Photos and Description of the West Transdanubia vacation rental 2 bedroom cottage to sleep 6 with direct views over the lake at Kistolmacs

Uniquely located lake side cottage. This traditional village property has 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin room). In addition, there is a comfortable double sofa bed in the lounge. The accommodation is spacious and fully equipped, making for a comfortable stay for up to 6 people. The property has been newly renovated and furnished to a high standard to include all modern facilities and equipment. Outside there are large gardens front and back with magnificent views across the lake to the wooded back drop. The lake is supplied via a local spring making it one of the cleanest lakes in Hungary, and provides activities such as swimming, fishing and the hire of pedalos, right opposite the cottage. The Village has bars and restaurants, a small village shop and a narrow gauge railway, making it an ideal base from which to explore, including the opportunity to visit Croatia, Slovenia and Austria, as the village is close to all borders, with Croatia being only 7 minutes away.

Kistolmacs is nestled in a picturesque wooded valley where visitors can experience a slow pace of life combined with a seasonal beach style atmosphere, including the hire of pedalos. The lake is also a popular fishing lake and is regularly stocked. Visitors to the house can wake up to the stunning view over the lake and, after taking a few steps, enjoy an early morning swim before breakfast. This scene can come alive in the day time as visitors enjoy everything that a beach holiday offers, all but the sand. The villagers offer a number of places to eat from snack bars to a restaurant, all offering alcoholic refreshment. There is a small village shop providing the essentials and a supermarket only five minutes away. A narrow gauge railway network, a short walk from the house, connects Kistolmacs to neighbouring villages via a scenic route.

LOUNGE The spacious lounge looks out over the lake. It comprises of a three seater settee and a large two seater sofa bed which enables another two guests to sleep comfortably.

We stayed here for a week in August 2009, it is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The cottage is lovely, very clean and modern with most things you needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone else. The lake was just outside the door and was nice to swim in. We had a brilliant time here, it was so relaxing and would definitely like to come again.
