The property is a renovated traditional stone house on 2 levels, bedroom & bathroom downstairs and living room, kitchen & dining room, open plan, upstairs. Various stone terraces provide a choice of sitting in the sun or under the shade of olive trees. A feature is the combination of a mountain location (385m above sea level) with breathtaking views over the gulf towards Nafplion on the one side and the islands of Spetsae and Hydra on the other.

Ano Tyros is the highest of the 3 sections of Tyros. Passing down through Mesa Tyros brings one to Paralia Tyros by the sea, with various shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and a Bank & Post Office. South from Tyros the road leads past a choice of beaches, the village of Livadi and on into Leonidio (the area's capital) with its narrow streets and distinctive stone mansions. 5 minutes away is Plaka, the yacht marina & beaches, cafes and restaurants Beyond Leonidio, roads wind up to mountain villages, passing monasteries which cling to sheer rock faces. North from Tyros are the towns of Astros with sea sports facilities, Argos & Mycenae, the first capital of modern Greece, Nafplion, with its dominant Venetian fortifications known locally as Palamidi, as well as the archaeological sites of Tiryns and Epidaurus etc.

Ano Tyros: The highest of the three Tyros communities, the village retains both its traditional architecture and many aspects of the traditional way of life. Donkeys are still used to carry loads along narrow pathways. Several families keep chickens, goats or sheep. Outside wood fired ovens are regularly in use for cooking or bread making. The streets are narrow but little used as there is no through traffic. For ease of access to the house we recommend a 4X4. Not really ideal for inexperienced or nervous drivers.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely house and can recommend it to everyone, who likes a quiet and secluded place far away from the tourist crowds. Beautiful scenery and splendid views from the terrace towards the coast.
Furnished with taste and local flair.
Tania and Chris have been very helpful and proving us with lots of good advice and hints of what to do and see. Would have definitely stayed longer!
We would love to come again!!

Our 5 days at this lovely cottage just weren't enough. The views - stretching out across the bay to Spetses and Hydra - are out of this world. It was peaceful and private, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We relaxed immediately. Tyrou is an unspoilt Greek village and thankfully not at all touristy. Chris and Tania were really friendly and able to offer useful local info e.g. on beaches and tavernas. Napflio and Epidavros are definitely worth investigating (just over an hour away). We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and hope to go back sometime.

Wonderful little house with everything you need

... to feel at home. This was defenetly the cutest house we´ve ever stayed in on holidays. It is fully equipped, so you won´t miss anything at all. The view is terrific and it is the perfect place to stay when you want to be close to nature and all by yourself.

We do recommend the house to everybody we talk to, because it is such a lovely place. The village is also really nice and everybody is very friendly. Don´t miss it!
