We spend some days in Tahoe, the house was very nice and cozy, very close to squaw valley, quiet neighborhood, it was clean. Looking forward to come back again.
The location was perfect for our vacation. The house was amazing and everything was close by, we didn't have to drive too far for anything. The house was fully equipped with all the necessities and it was beautiful! I will definitely go back! Thank you Vacasa!
We planned this trip on relatively short notice, and were expecting to have difficulty finding a suitable rental for our family. But this house was an awesome place to stay, and Vacasa made it very easy to arrange.
The house is just a short walk from the main business district in Tahoe City. It's far enough that we were away from the traffic and crowds, but close enough that we could walk to the beach, shopping, the bike trail or whatever we wanted to do that day. The photos don't do the house justice; we were very comfortable here and amenities like cable (for watching the Olympics) and WiFi were helpful. The kids loved the video games!
Probably the best feature of the house, for the adults, was the deck. Every morning was peacefully spent there, drinking coffee and enjoying the view of the lake, breathing the clean mountain air and quietly reading while the teenagers slept in.
While in Tahoe City, we spent as much time as we could on the water. We rented a boat for wakeboarding/tubing from the Marina, rafted down the Truckee (we strongly recommend that you go first thing in the morning, to be on the river before the crowds get there), and went parasailing. If you need a break from the activity, take a drive around the lake. Or at least go as far as Emerald Bay on the west side; it's a breathtakingly beautiful ride.
We didn't have a bad meal in Tahoe City; we loved Rosie's, and the Tahoe Mountain Brewery was another favorite. The service was a bit sketchy at times (though not at these two places), but we attributed that to young/inexperienced servers.
Coming from so far away (Pennsylvania), we wanted a different vacation experience, and we certainly got it! We loved our stay in Tahoe, and plan on coming back some day. Maybe a winter ski trip? When we return, we will be renting this property again. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
