About Robert Warren

My wife and I live in Florida, but have enjoyed vacationing with our two children in New England for many years. After a number of trips to Maine and renting beautiful homes to enjoy the crisp air and postcard views, we decided to take the plunge and purchase our own dream getaway. We have not regretted it for one minute.

Robert Warren purchased this cabin in 2006
Why Robert Warren chose Embden

The cabin is ideally located with a wooded area behind it and an open view of the lake in front. It is clean and equipped with modern amenities yet has the feel of a mountain cabin getaway.

What makes this cabin unique

Sitting on the porch in the mornings watching the fog rise off of the lake while enjoying a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee. There is no better way to start the day.

Ending the day with family and friends sitting around a fire by the lake and listening to the loons call is just magical. These memories are my best.

What is called a pond in New England is generally considered a lake by people elsewhere. Embden Pond measures nearly five miles long and has a surface area of 1568 acres. Its maximum depth is 180 feet, but the shores slope gently so that swimming and wading are easy and convenient.

Embden Pond offers some of the best fishing in the state. Wild Salmon, Trout, Bass, Perch, and Pickerel are abundant in the lake and are supplemented by regular stocking of Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon from nearby Embden Fish Rearing Station (hatchery). Ice fishing is popular in winter. A public boat launch is available on the lake and you can keep your boat at your own boat slip in front of the cabin. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular activities on the lake.

Best vacation ever!

Submitted: May 10, 2012 Stayed: September 2008
As we get ready to leave on a rainy Saturday, nothing can dampen what we have experienced on our vacation. Started with fishing from the dock. Make sure you see the guys at the fish hatchery at the south end of the lake. The NFL kicked of while we were here and were able to watch the games which was great. Went on a Moose Safari with North Country Rivers in Bingham. If you go, be sure to tell Gerry B his friends from NY sent you. A trip to Acadia is a MUST. The views are breathtaking. If you golf, Sugarloaf is also a must see. It's a bit pricey but totally worth the money for what you will see. You will travel up the Carrabasset River on your way there - a truly amazing little river that has many memories for us. We went on a hike to Moxie Falls which is also a must see. For the adventurous type, a white water trip down the Kennebec River with a North Country Rivers guide is something to behold. Wow, what a ride!! Of all the fun things we did, the cabin was the best part, a home atmosphere while on vacation. Pinkham's has great pizza and good prices on groceries. It really was the best vacation we have ever had!
Thank you so much to the Warrens. We will never forget our trip to Maine.

It has been yet another beautiful, completely relaxing week for the S. family. Boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, reading, cards! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us! Joe and Lorena are wonderful for rentals! Be sure to call them! Take an early evening and visit Terri, have a Hot Stone massage -- you won't be dissapointed!
Many fish were caught and enjoyed! We look forward to another visit.
Thank you,

Beautiful location.

Submitted: May 10, 2012 Stayed: August 2009
What a beautiful location. We have had a fantastic week away from the "real world." Lots of time fishing, canoeing, sailing, swimming, and moose hunting. Yes, we did see an elusive moose - third time lucky and it involved getting up a 5 am!! Well worth it! Moxie Falls and a visit to the Embden Fish Farm were well worth doing. The reception by staff at the fish farm was very welcoming and informative. Would definitely return - maybe a winter break next.
All the best,
The F. Family,
