Located on 20 acres, this vintage hobby farm provides wooded land, marsh, fields, and 650 feet of lake frontage for every type of activity. Relax by the wood fireplace on the main floor, sit in the outdoor hot tub and watch the stars, or enjoy a stroll throughout the wooded trails.

With 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2,000 square feet of space there is plenty of room for the whole family, or a spacious retreat for a couple.

Centrally Located:

- Just outside of Iola, WI. Approximately 4 miles to the Iola Old Car Show Grounds.

- 18 miles to downtown Waupaca, WI, or 20 miles to the Chain of Lakes.

- 27 miles to downtown Stevens Point, WI

- 50 miles to Fox River Mall in Appleton, WI

- 60 miles to the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh, WI
About Dan and Kathy

We fell in love with this century old farm at first sight, with no intention other than returning the property to its original glory. After several years of cleaning, refinishing, and painting the property is nearing its full potential. We enjoyed going to our little retreat (only 11 miles away from our own old farm house), but realized we wanted to share it with others.

We have a love for century old farms, history, and antiques. We needed to keep this home from falling into more disrepair.

What makes this farmhouse unique

This home has such a special feel, the minute you drive in. We loved the quiet lakefront and peaceful setting. From the nice little kitchen, the pretty sunroom (with a view of the lake), to the fireplace in the living room, we fell in love with the property right away!

The Iola Winter Carnival is held the first weekend of February each year. Enjoy a traditional Norwegian supper, ice sculpting, and ski jumping (held at the Iola Ski Hill).

Iola offers a great fireworks display July 3rd each year.

The Iola Old Car and Swap Meet is held the 2nd weekend in July. Join the more than 100,000 car enthusiasts peruse the 2,200 show cars and 4,400 swap spaces on 300 acres of property.

Fun and cozy place!

This place is great! Within 10 minutes of being there, my kids were asking when can we come back. There is something to do for a range of ages - from fishing, swimming, catching frogs, hiking, biking, camp fire, hot tub, and just relaxing! It is very clean and well stocked. One of the best stocked kitchens we have ever traveled to! Any appliance or kitchenware you need is there. The land and privacy is nice. Yet, town was not too far away when we wanted to run to a grocery store. The house is updated well and very cozy. The owners were very nice and helpful, yet respected your vacation time. I would recommend this place any season of the year. We would definitely go back!

The rental was fabulous! I took a walk all around, did some fishing and everything exceeded my expectations. I will recommend this place to anyone who asks and I WILL rent this property again.

Perfect Getaway!

My boyfriend and I had such an AMAZING weekend at The Helvetia Hideaway.

Kathy and Dan were tremendously accommodating. They responded to emails promptly and were waiting at the property when we arrived to show us around and answer any questions. They were so genuine and sweet—we really couldn’t have asked for more wonderful hosts.

The property is absolutely lovely. We spent a good amount of time in the outdoor hot tub, walked on the trails (saw lots of animals, including two deer!), built a bonfire in the fire pit, and even took a few trips on the lake in the rowboat. Everything we needed—from life jackets to chopped wood—was provided! All that was required of us was to listen to the chirping birds, soak up the sun, and enjoy being together. It was wonderful!

The house was perfect. The A/C kept us cool despite the sweltering heat. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, including a coffee maker (thankfully), and the bedrooms and bathrooms had clean linens and towels. Everything we wanted or needed was RIGHT THERE.

Thank you SO MUCH, Kathy and Dan, for a worry-free, private, tranquil, and memorable weekend with my man. We definitely will be back! :-)

Rest and Relaxation

The farmhouse and grounds are absolutely charming. From the hot tub to the bedding - everything was nicer than we expected. We loved going for walks on the trails and enjoying all of the wildlife. The property was beautifully maintained and clean as can be. It is very secluded and quiet. We loved waking up with a cup of coffee and watching the loons. This was the perfect getaway for our family! Can't wait to visit again!
