Photos and Description of the Maine-et-Loire vacation cottage rental Detached with private sun terrace in five acres. Saumur chateau and vineyards

The cottage is fully equipped and sits in five acres of paddocks. English owners live on site though completely separate from the cottage. They offer fresh grown garden fruit and vegetables FREE to visitors and are available for advice if required. Bicycles are also available FREE as the Loire is great cycling country - very flat with many forest pathways and riverside tracks to explore. Jumelles village offers a grocery store, boulangerie and a hairdressers. The main supermarket is five minutes by car at Longue.

Our nearest town is Saumur famous for its beautiful riverside chateau and the vast vineyards. Saumur is famous for the Cadre Noir horsemen - first established in Saumur by Napoleon. There are frequent displays of horsemanship in the town. Some of the most beautiful buildings - all made from the local Tuffeau cream stone - are in the centre of the town. For racing enthusiasts the Le Mans 24-hour race is an hour away, and the famous Fontrevaud Abbey attracts many visitors. This part of the Loire Valley is renowned for its many chateaux - some with fairytale interest for children, others still lived in by descendants of those who went to the guillotine at the French Revolution!

Great holiday cottage!

A really great cottage for a holiday in the Loire.

Set in very quiet farmland (yet only 10 mins drive from the motorway) it is in a great spot for exploring the area.

The house itself was very clean, tidy with a well equipped kitchen for cooking in.

The owners were extremely helpful and friendly and whilst they live on site the house does feel very private.
Owner's Response: We always endeavour to make our visitors feel welcome and we take time and trouble to make sure the Cottage is clean and comfortable.

Although we live on site, we appreciate the fact that our visitors want some privacy, but we are always here to give help or advice when required.

We have been extremely lucky with our visitors from America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, and we look forward to meeting many more. Deidre and John.
