Milford-on-Sea: Milford-on-Sea is a quiet coastal village with spectacular views over the Sea to the Isle of Wight. Ferries across to the Island can be taken from Lymington and Keyhaven as can boat trips and fishing trips. A car is useful to enjoy the area but is not essential as there are buses to Lymington and from there to other New Forest villages and Southampton, and in the other direction to Bournemouth. It is the ideal place to explore the New Forest National Park and the stunning coastal areas. The area is a haven for wildlife lovers who can see horses, deer and the rare birds who frequent the salt marshes and coastal areas. Pine View Cottage is a delightful self-catering holiday home for both families, and couples alike. It has TV/DVD with Freeview giving access to many TV channels as well as tourist information, games and books for your holiday enjoyment. We provide information on many local walks for you to enjoy alone or with your family pet/s. Walkers and runners will be spoilt.

Parking and cycling: The cottage is in a quiet no-through road in Milford-on-Sea with ample private parking for residents. There is access to the back garden where you can store bikes for safe keeping. Bikes are available to hire from many outlets and there are numerous cycle tracks throughout the New Forest National Park.

Cyclists can take full advantage of Milford on Sea's coastal paths and cycle all the way to Lymington and beyond enjoying the spectacle coastal views and nature reserve at Keyhaven.

Swimming and beaches: The quiet beaches at Milford - on- Sea are safe for swimming and great for people of all ages. The views over to Island are sublime. The pristine beaches are pebbles and sand. Dogs are allowed all year round but are restricted to certain parts in the summer. More lively beaches are found in Bournemouth which boasts seven miles of golden sand, lifeguards and entertainment. There are plenty of beach car parks in Milford-on-Sea but why not walk from Pine View Cottage and save energy. There are toilets and cafes by the beach. Beach huts are available to rent at Milford-on-Sea. Please enquire for prices. There are indoor swimming pools at the nearby towns of Lymington and New Milton. A short drive away in Bournemouth are many swimming pools with slides, waterparks, and fun activities for children and adults alike e.g. Splashdown, Littledown Centre. An ideal day out is the award winning Bournemouth Oceanian where you can see hundreds of awesome sea creatures from around the world.

Wonderful Week Away

  • 5 of 5

Another fantastic week in this beautiful area. This was our second September visit to Sheri’s lovely house and we have always been really lucky and had great weather. We enjoy the stunning scenery and lovely costal and Danestream walks. It is great to return home after a day out and relax in the sunny conservatory with a drink or two. Thanks for an amazing week.

Lovely week in a super seaside town

  • 5 of 5

The house is clean and well-equipped and situated in a quiet residential close about 10 mins walk from the seafront or 2 minutes from a nature reserve. We had dogs with us and had a fantastic week. The house and garden are very suitable for dogs. Would definitely go again. Thanks Sheri!

Adequate

  • 3 of 5

The house is an end town house in a quiet location on a very attractive estate with a network of footpaths leading to the village and amenity areas along a stream. Milford is a fairly quiet village on an accessible part of the coast. We found excellent food at the village pub, Smugglers Inn, and an Italian restaurant, The Raft. Unfortunately it was rather hot as it was very hot weather and it was not possible to open the downstairs windows due to no window keys being available (the upstairs windows could be opened ok). Apart from the lack of ventilation downstairs, the property was reasonably comfortable, though a bit small and not that clean. Bearing in mind that we are fairly limited for self catering properties as not many allow our two dogs, the property was adequate for our needs.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. It was an extremely hot week with lovely sunny weather. I wish you had contacted me about the keys and I could have pointed out that the lounge bay window keys are actually in the bay window on the right hand side and the conservatory window keys are always kept on the sill to the kitchen in the conservatory. They are both kept out of reach of children for safety reasons. Hopefully, you kept the conservatory door open. I agree the weather was exceptionally hot, but we could have addressed the key issue immediately had you telephoned us on day one. We are very pleased with the cleaners and feel they do a great job. I am sorry you felt otherwise.

Lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a wonderful week at Pine View Cottage. It proved to be very comfortable , well equipped and quiet. Sheri gave us a warm welcome , kindly answered every question and made valuable suggestions for trips in the area . Each day was concluded by a walk down to the beautiful shingle beach with stunning views of the Isle of Wight . Both of our daughters (14 and 16 yrs) enjoyed that ,too , but they also fancied the shopping facilities in the bigger cities nearby ( Bournemouth ,Southampton, Winchester ). We would absolutely recommend this property and intend to return in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments. I am so glad you all enjoyed your stay. We have a lot of visitors with teenagers and they all enjoy the area. It is easy to walk everywhere in the village and there is so much for them to see and do in the surrounding area. My three daughters, one of whom is still a teenager, all love Milford on Sea and the New Forest as well as the proximity to the nightlight and shopping of Bournemouth and Southampton! Sheri

Nice stay in Pine View Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We - a family of four - stayed in Pine View Cottage in August 2010 for 10 days. We can really recommend the house. It fits the description given by Sheri very well. The house is well-maintained and we didn't miss anything. Although the weather wasn't very good, we found lots to do in Milford-on-Sea and it's surroundings. We enjoyed our trips to the New Forest and to go to Bournemouth and Southhampton was definitly worth it.
