In November 2011 I purchased this property because of it's outstanding location and 'good bones'. After an extensive remodel, it is ready to keep you in comfort and style for the duration of your Louisville residency. After many years in the hospitality industry, I know what makes a home comfortable and what amenities are most appreciated.
Deirdre Seim purchased this house in 2011
Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby, of course, but it also has one of the nation's finest park systems, great live theater, huge arts festivals and (mostly) lovely weather. The Cherokee Triangle neighborhood is a vibrant, upscale but eclectic zone flanked by gorgeous parks on one side and nightlife, shopping and restaurants on the other-- I have lived in the area for 15 years and would not consider a move to any other Louisville location!
Really enjoyed our stay - the house was well appointed, it was very, very comfortable, and was in a perfect location. Was 1/2 block off Bardstown Road with many food, beverage, and shopping spots. Was also 1 block from Cherokee Park - we really loved jogging in it - it was beautiful. There was a nice deck that we really liked as well. We would absolutely stay here again
We had a wonderful long weekend at this beautifully appointed Louisville Highlands home. Our group ranged in age from 85 to 32 and everyone agreed that we couldn't have found a more perfect setting. Everything was spotless on our arrival, the sheets and towels above expectations, and really nothing for us to do but to enjoy our stay. The Highlands neighborhood commercial zone is just down the block. Several of us enjoyed morning walks in the nearby parks, others strolling Bardstown Rd shops. We had a delightful Sunday morning breakfast at Highland Morning, and excellent BBQ at Mark's Feed Store. Highly recommended by every member of our family gathering!
Every interaction with our Hostess was perfect, as she and her husband guided us into the Louisville area (day of arrival there was a festival on Restaurant Row on Baxter Avenue so we had to cut a few new routes). She made certain that my family was properly oriented to the magnificent home, all amenities, driving directions to pick up at the airport, restaurants of note, and other aspects of Louisville. Ver spacious property adjacent to Frederick Law Olmstead Cherokee Park, wonderfully landscaped and perfect for walking every morning. Mass 2 blocks away, and every amenity, restaurants, groceries, pubs, etc. within safe walking distance. Absolutely impecably maintained property--Deirdre is a caring PRO!
A group of 8 adults, 3 couples and 2 single women, stayed for the week of the NGQ convention..house was perfect. about 10 min from convention center. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the porches for coffee in the morning. Kitchen large enough for meal prep and dining room for eating.. The house was well taken care of and had the charm of a house that was loved..would recommend for your stay. Comfty beds and pillows, lots of fluffy towels. Thank you, we were well pleased.
This house was really comfortable for us and was perfectly located. We walked to several good restaurants and really enjoyed Cherokee Park. The house was a great match for us - really well appointed. Also liked hanging out on the deck in back. Overall a great experience.
We stayed in this house while in Louisville for a family event and were very, very happy with the experience. The house is located within 1 block of Cherokee park (huge park for running, walking, playgrounds, trails, etc. - worked for our whole family) in one direction and 1 block of a street with many restaurants, coffee shops, and stores the other way.
The house itself was very comfortable (especially the bedding - wife a stickler for sheets and she was pleased). We enjoyed the deck in back and were happy to have off street parking. The owner was very professional to deal with. Will absolutely stay here again. An outstanding experience and value.
Fabulous location 1/2 block of Louisville's 'Restaurant Row' and 1 block from the city's best park- the 400 acre Olmstead designed 'Cherokee Park'. Walk less than a block to local coffee shop. Less than two blocks to movie theater, full grocery store, fitness facility and over 10 restaurants (with dozens more restaurants within 1 mile).
4 miles to Churchill Downs, 2 miles to Downtown Louisville,, 5 miles to Airport.
