Where in the Village of Rockport can one have less than a five minute walk for a swim at family friendly Front Beach, maybe a live concert at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, or how about a signature Lobsta Roll while looking out on Motif #1 or, if need be, grab a train for a little more than an hour commute into/from Boston on the commuter rail? Hoping it is not the latter; the answer is #2A Holbrook Court. If commuting is part of a longer term rental, this is definitely your home away from home.
Walk down King Street 800 yds or stroll through Mill Pond Park and the playground and you arrive at Front Beach, the premier family beach right in the middle of the Village of Rockport. The surf is gentle with a gentle slope leading into the water. To your right you can see the shops, the Shalin Liu Performance Center and on out to Bearskin Neck for your shopping needs and that Lobster previously mentioned.
Everything is provided for you at 'your' home here in Rockport, fully furnished, including bedinens, towels, kitchen items and beach towels and chairs. Even if you are planning on doing some canning, look under the counter next to the sink. Sleeps 6 plus one child in private rooms, 2 more on single couches in common spaces. Two off-street parking spaces. Oh, and there's a piano!
Bring those clubs: The semi-private Rockport Golf Club is five minutes away. The course is available to non-members on weekdays and after 3:30PM on Weekends and Holidays. Non-members may arrange tee times one day in advance.
We're a family of two kids, two parents, way too blessed to complain!
Jimmy and Jamy Madeja purchased this house in 2011
We purchased this beautiful home to move our family to in a few years time, or to just use when we can between school schedules and other travels. It was too special to leave on the market!
Easy to find seclusion throughout the house or on the hammock on the second floor deck, or in the large yard; relaxing sea air and sunshine throughout. Easy, short walk to commuter train, beach, town, entertainment and parks.
What an amazing house in an ideal location! We had such a fabulous time walking through the park to Front beach and to all the shops! My kids said it was "the best" vacation and didn't want to leave. Thank you for having us!
We had the most fantastic holiday in Rockport. The house was just perfect - a real home from home, it was ideally situated so that hiring a car was not necessary. The local transport of trains and buses were a few minutes away on foot. The beach was just around the corner. Rockport itself had a great variety of shops, galleries and restaurants. A great holiday destination for all the family. We were all so sad to leave [ two weeks was not enough!] and are already planning our next trip!
Our family made the trip up from NC to spend time with family in the area. The place was clean and close to the beach and downtown. We just loved walking downtown to Brothers Brew for coffee and a homemade donut. Also walked down to the T and spent the day in Boston. Great stay and would definitely come again.
We stayed with our adult children who arrived on different days. The house was laid out so that you never felt until of each other. I couldn't help notice how well it was set up for families with younger children, lots of games, places to color etc. While it was too cold to use the porches they were quite nice and the upper one offers glimpses of the ocean. The lower one provides a great gathering place for eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in warmer weather. It also overlooks a yard and garden which is quite nice. Being in the heart of town is just a two minute walk to the beach and all the shops and restaurants. No cars necessary! It was a great stay!
I can't say enough about this house. It is old and beautiful but must have been very recently and professionally renovated. Everything is so clean and fresh. Clearly it is someone's home not just a rental property. Also, the location is great. You are about 9 houses away from Front Beach and around the corner to the Boston train. Once you park here you can walk to the beach, the restaurants and the downtown in minutes. Or just stay in the well stocked kitchen and eat on the lovely porch.
Lovely home, perfect location, kind and attentive owners - we could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. The beach and town is a short walk away; the commuter train into Boston is also close. Sitting on the covered porch just enjoying the sea breezes - priceless!
Too many to name, so best to Google the Rockport/Gloucester area of Massachusetts, also known as Cape Ann, and see the many options for indoor and outdoor respite. Home is a five minute walk from numerous shops ranging from quaint and historic to modern chic. Beaches and activities for kids and adults galore. Dozens of art galleries. General setting is hundreds of years' old fishing and ship-owners' village (1600's) modernized as a very special year-round community.
