Chez Bouchard comprises The Barn and The Old Cottage respectively a three bedroom converted barn and a four bedroom farmhouse situated in a quiet hamlet, 2km from the village of Saint Andre de Lidon. The Barn is set in its own grounds, fully equipped and includes a shared 11 x 5 metre swimming pool in a walled enclosure.

The Barn, Chez Bouchard is situated in the Department of Charente-Maritime which enjoys the second highest number of sunshine hours in the whole of France. Our houses are easily reached by car or by air.

Our houses are about 4 hours' drive from St Malo, 5 hours from Le Havre or 7 hours from Calais. The motorway which brings you into the Charente Maritime is the A10.

Situated in a peaceful rural setting the house is close to the sandy beaches of Royan and St,Georges de Didonne. The Barn is a sympathetically converted property renovated to a high standard. It is a three bedroom and two bathroom house over two floors which would accommodate one family. The property comprises: A huge ground floor sitting room with open stone fireplace and French doors opening onto the covered patio with steps down to the swimming pool enclosure. There is a large open plan fully equipped kitchen with dining area and a downstairs Shower room. On the first Floor is the master bedroom and two twin bedrooms. There is an upstairs bathroom with bath, basin and W.C. The house is also equipped with garden furniture and barbecues.

Situated in a peaceful rural setting Chez Bouchard is close to the sandy beaches of Royan and St. Georges de Didonne. The nearest shops, boulangerie, patisserie, supermarket are but a 3 minute drive or a 20 minute walk away in St. Andre de Lidon. All water sports, cycling, walking, golf, horse riding, fishing and most other pastimes are available nearby. The historic towns of Saintes, Cognac, La Rochelle and Bordeaux are within approximately 1 hours drive. Talmont, situated just south of Meschers on the Estuary is particularly beautiful and a must for a visit. There are regular markets throughout the area at Cozes, Gemozac and Saintes. Saintes, the first capital of Aquitaine during the Gallo Roman Age is the nearest large town. It is rich in monuments from medieval times.
