Kerio is a traditional Breton stone cottage situated in a small hamlet of 4 properties 1Km from the village of Ploërdut and 5 km from the nearest small town (Gueméné-Sur-Scorff ). The cottage is situated off of a country lane at the bottom of a no through track. It has a patio area to the front with a large lawn leading to the barn. The separate Barn has been converted into a play room, complete with games, books and a small multiple games table (pool, table football, air hockey etc), a place for the kids to escape from the adults! The house is in a quiet rural location with the forest directly at the front door. You can hear Owls in the forest, watch the bats and you may well see wild Boar! The golden sands of Guidel beach are a 35 minute drive away.

Kerio is in a quiet rural location in the north-west of Morbihan. The green hills and quiet wooded valleys carved out by the area’s three rivers, Ellé, Scorff and Aër offer a beautifully contrasting landscape. The area abounds in monuments, churches and chapels. Ploërdut is situated around a beautiful Medieval Church and has its own, Boulangery, crêperie and 2 friendly bars. The nearest town Guemene Sur Scorff has good restaurants, supermarket and many other shops. Kerio offers the ideal location for a peaceful holiday yet is only 35 minutes from golden beaches at Guidel and many medieval towns. With coastal, archaeological and historical attractions such as those at Pontivy, Carnac, and medieval Concarneau. Lakes with beach area, swimming, sailing and bars are 10 minutes away at Priziac and Plouray. The Black Mountains are a 20 minute drive. In addition Horse riding, water sports, fishing, bird watching, golf and bike riding are all within easy reach with walks from the front door.

Notes: The ground floor has a large Kitchen / dining room with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, iron and ironing board and a gas hob range cooker. The living room has Log burning stove, DVD player (with a range of DVD’s), CD player (with a range of CD’s). There is also a shower room/ toilet. The second floor has three bedrooms (double room, twin room and smaller twin room plus cot available) and a bathroom. Please note the stairs are fairly steep but we have fixed a stair gate to the top and there is a removable gate to the ground floor level. There are electric wall mounted heaters in all rooms except lounge which has the log burner. There is also a barn in the garden which serves as a childrens games room, outdoor games including boules and badminton are also provided.

A little gem in Brittany

We went to Kerio for one week last June, we were lucky the weather was perfect. The directions from the owners were very good. This is a lovely area, the cottage was very well equiped, clean and well maintained, the furnishings were comfortable and in excellent condition. The kitchen was also well equiped which made cooking easy.
The games barn was a plus, and we spent a lovely time making use of the games provided.
The surrounding area is beautiful and roads were amazingly quiet which made driving a long forgotten pleasure. The beaches are clean and the local lake with its small beach and boating area was a great hit with children and grown ups alike.
I would certainly recommend this holiday cottage and we will be returning this year for another week.
