Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea off the South East coast of Spain and its coastline has over 100 beautiful clean sandy coves and beaches.
Menorca has a wealth of history with the two main towns of Mahon, which boasts one of the biggest natural harbours in the world, and the old capital of Ciutadella with its Georgian architecture and over 500 places of historic interest on the island.
Menorca is only 44km long and 14km wide, so no journey by road is more than an hour.
The island has a water park near the town of Cala'n Bosch and you can do go-kart racing, trotting racing, horse riding, and boat trips from a number of places around Menorca.
Market days in Mahon are on Tuesday and Saturday mornings and the restaurants in the Port of Mahon are wide ranging and open till late. If you do wish to explore the island and visit one of the 100 beautiful beaches and the historic town of Ciutadella, hire a car for a few days!
