A charming country retreat! Burycroft Farmhouse is set in 6 acres of farmland with surrounding fields running down to the River Windrush with the market town of Witney beyond. It's in an elevated position and has a large South facing garden with the most glorious views. Beyond the house is a working farm. You will find a few horses and sheep grazing in the fields. All rooms have superb views of the surrounding countryside. There are 5 double bedrooms: 2 with king size beds, 1 double with en suite bathroom, 1 other double plus 1 twin-bedded room. There are 2 family bathrooms and a downstairs cloakroom. The farmhouse kitchen has an Aga, large fridge with ice maker and a breakfast table. The kitchen opens up to a patio with an outside table and chairs. There are also 2 benches in the garden. The beamed Dining room seats 10 comfortably and the large, beamed Living room with TV, DVD and hi-fi has comfortable seating for 10. - It's a great place for a family or friends get-together!

Witney is a pretty working town which was the home of the Witney blanket factory. Before it closed it was one of the oldest companies in the country, having been in the same family since 1666. The old factory site is still visible across the valley and has now been turned into an attractive housing development, though the old factory chimney has been retained. A visit to the Cogges Manor Farm Museum is highly recommended. There are many fine walks in the area, and most go past at least one excellent pub/restaurant. Close by is Burford, Minster Lovell, Swinbrook and Blenheim Palace. The beautiful ‘dreaming spires’ of the city of Oxford are just 13 miles distant. There is a friendly pub in Crawley Village - less than 1 mile away.

The nearest neighbours are across the country road - some 300 meters away. Indeed, there are only 3 houses within a radius of half a mile. In the fields beyond the garden, horses graze and hay is mown. It is an idyllic English rural spot.

Other Activities: Punting - rent a punt at Folly Bridge or Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford or try an electric punt at Newbridge.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for letting us use Burycroft, it was the perfect venue for our family reunion. The house felt incredibly cosy and made us feel completely at home. The garden was ideal for the children to run around in and we enjoyed a lovely sunny afternoon sat on the terrace overlooking the paddocks with relatives from as far as Canada. It was a real struggle to leave on Monday morning and we are already planning out next visit.

I would recommend Burycroft as a perfect venue for a couple or a family. Our weekend really couldn't have been any better.

Gorgeous Country Retreat!

My fiance and I had a lovely weekend at Burycroft! It was so relaxing.... the best bit is sitting on the terrace by the kitchen watching the horses in the field.

There's also some great walks down in the water meadows in the valley which are highly recommended!

Would go back ANY day!
