Luxury 3 bedroom penthouse apartment on Javea Arenal beach, Spain

This was the first time in Javea for myself and my two children. We had such a great time and largely this was because we had a fabulous apartment as a base.

Everyone had their own bedroom so there was no squabbling. We had breakfast on the upstairs balcony in the mornings and played cards on the downstairs balcolny in the evenings.

After breakfast every morning we would go for a swim, the pool was quiet so we didnt have to worry too much about splashing etc, my daughter learnt to dive, my son and I managed a volley of 44 with bat and ball. The other children and families were really friendly. Even though I don't speak a word of Spanish the family vibe of the whole place helped us to meet people and have fun.

Location wise, it simply could not be any better. After morning swim we would walk down to the beach for the rest of the day, literally 5 minutes away. There were places to eat for every palette and purse and in all cases really good food.

We are already agreed that we will be going again next year. Perhaps I shouldnt write such a good review in case someone nabs the apartment!

I honestly can't speak highly enough of the apartment and the town, the convenience and the friendliness. The agents were on hand all the time and if we needed them ( I needed some help to work out the air con on the first day, was very simple but was not sure) and they were literally there in minutes.

The first thing to mention about the property is that of its location in relation to the Mercadona (Supermarket), and the Arenal beach. Its approximately less than 5 minutes to the beach, and 10 minutes to the local supermarket. Also highly recommended is the Columbian butcher less than 5 minutes away, cheaper than the supermarket, and excellent quality of meat. The internet provided is free with the apartment, of which the password would need to be obtained off the man onsite next to the pool, and is useful for those who want (need) the connection to the world wide web. Additionally there is a bbq that is provided, of which was put to good use!! The apartment itself is good, with facilities to cook a number of dishes should you wish to take advantage of the self-catering facilities (as we prefer due to prices of the restaurants, and personal preference of homecooking). A must mention is the roof terrace, which literally gets the sun from start to finish with a beautiful view of the Mount Montgo, and the massive pool with ample sunbathing space. Overall the other individuals staying in the apartment were accomodating and friendly, with the complex being secure.
Javea itself is beautiful and not so hectic, with plenty of bars and a couple clubs for those who are the more adventurous, with other activities available for those who are more energetic, such as scuba diving down the road, jetski's, karting (though a bit further inland), and links to the aqualand within Benidorm.
Another must mention is the market up in the old town on Thursdays, should you wish to pick up a few random bits, and food but brace yourself should you wish to walk, but there is a bus for less than 2 Euro's.

All in all, i would highly recommend the apartment although some thought would be needed if it were the full 6 capacity, due to 2 double beds, and 2 singles within 3 rooms. Thank you to the owner for the opportunity, and we will be back!

Spent two weeks here in the fall of 2009, and it surprised us no end. To start, the town of Javea is a relatively quiet town, offering a great alternative to most of the other towns along the costa (which are too touristic for our taste). No skyscrapers here!

If you are looking for quiet and couleur locale, you got it. A day at the beach is at walking distance. The boulevard (enjoying your breakfasts here is a must!) is picturesque, with a diverse collection of bars, restaurants and pubs, all with that nice view of the Mediterranean. The town's people are friendly and make you feel well at home.

The compound we stayed was exactly what it promised, if not more. This combination of luxury, privacy and easy living is a rare one. Worth every penny.
