This beautiful stone-built single storey house, set between the mountains and the sea, is an oasis of calm and tranquility. Tastefully renovated, it has two double bedrooms and one twin room, all en suite. A fourth small room can be used as a spill-over. There is also a small self-contained apartment that can be rented separately, or used as a maid's room. The breakfast terrace, blissfully warming in the morning, provides sanctuary from sun later in the day, while the pool terrace is drenched with glorious rays until late evening. The gardens are simply designed with over 20 shady olive trees. There is an excellent swimming pool with spring board, alarm, a bar/barbecue, a shady decked lounge area and a small boules court.

Le Rouret, on the eastern fringes of Provence, is situated between the Cote d'Azur and the Alpes Maritimes in the area the locals call the 'Triangle d'Or'. Only 20 minutes from Cannes and Nice, le Rouret is quaint and has been settled since Roman times. The villa, which is located on a quiet road in peaceful, wooded area, is close to both a Roman road and a Roman encampment. The centre of the village boast, inter alia, a cafe, a Michelin-stared restaurant, other eateries, a wine shop and, or course, a baker. There is a bus service from Nice and Grasse, where Queen Victoria holidayed, and a train service from both to Cannes and Italy. There are many 'villes perches' nestled in the hills nearby, such as St Paul de Vence, home to the Columb d'Or where Picasso, Chagal and many other artists paid for their lodge with paintings and sculptures, all srill in situ. Grasse is the perfume capital of the world, while medieval Valbonne is uber-quaint, with a fabulous market every Friday.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rates are the same in both GBP Sterling and Euros

    Linen and towels (beach / pool and bathroom) are provided. Maid service can be daily, twice or thrice weekly or as preferred. There is a one off €100 / £100 departure cleaning charge.

    The guest apartment is an additional €250 to €450 per week
  • A 20% deposit is required and balance must be paid in full one month prior to arrival. I also require a security deposit of €500 (or £500).
  • 1 week stay, arriving and departing Saturday, is preferred. However, as flights are considerably cheaper mid-week, I will also consider taking mid-week / 10 day bookings.

Notes: Although car hire is essential to maximise the enjoyment of a holiday in Le Rouret, we can arrange reasonably-priced pick-ups and set-downs. We offer too a maid service for a bargain additional cost and can also arrange (modest) catering and baby-sitting. For parties up to six, we can offer trips on the Med, with picnics and / or drop-offs at seaside restaurants (please bring a swimming costume!)

The kitchen / sitting room comprises of a Bo Concept sofa / sofa bed, French TV, ceramic hob, sink, drainer, pink glass worktop, cutlery and crockery and a Smeg fridge. The bedroom has a round bed, wardrobe, sink and shower. There is also a separate toilet. It is suitable for a couple or a nanny.
