Welcome to Plantation Bungalows Maui! Looking for a vacation spot that offers peace and tranquility, yet is just a few minutes from restaurants and activities? This 2-BR, 1-BA cottage was built in the style of the 1926 plantation home that also occupies this property (See VRBO 45784). The cottage was built in 1992 to match the house, with 10-foot ceilings and a large covered lanai.
The cottage sits on a large (1/2-acre) corner lot. The mature hedges, shade trees, and palms surrounding the property provide amazing privacy even though you’re just a few minutes away from the beach and shops.
A hot tub sits ten feet from the spacious covered private lanai in a quiet courtyard with gas BBQ, outdoor dining table, and chaise lounges. Relax surrounded by lush mature palms, orchids, and other tropical plants with a large Royal Poinciana tree towering overhead.
The Plantation Bungalows property is a perfect place for family gatherings. The property includes a 3-bedroom main house that can accommodate 6 to 7 people comfortably and a studio that can accommodate 2 to 4 people. See VRBO listing #45784 for more info on the house/studio. Kihei has some of the best beaches in the world. The house is just 300 feet from the beach so you can grab a mask, snorkel, and fins (provided as a complimentary service) and head down first thing in the morning to swim with the marine life. You’ll probably see large sea turtles while you snorkel. In the winter months, you can view whales from the shoreline as close as 100 yards offshore. Or grab a beach chair and a cold drink and take a very short walk to a private and sandy beach (suitable for small children). Kihei faces west so the sunsets here are amazing. If you’re looking for more excitement, take advantage of the multitude of beaches nearby for body surfing, surfing (you can take lessons at “The Cove” nearby), snorkeling, paddle boarding, or virtually any ocean activity you can think of!
The Town of Kihei
Kihei is a great tropical beach town and everything you need is within walking or cycling distance (cruiser-type bikes are available as a complimentary service). In fact, you may decide to just park the car. Kihei and nearby Wailea are also known for their fabulous golf courses. The Elleaire golf course is nearby as well as five more courses a few miles away. Kalama Park, just one block away, has tennis courts, an in-line skating rink, a skate park, award-winning restaurants and grocery stores.

Plantation Bungalows is a licensed short-term rental. Permit Number: STKM 2013/0015.
Reservations are limited to one rental group at a time per short-term dwelling. The maximum occupancy is 12 people (two years and older) for the entire dwelling, which includes the house, studio, and cottage.
The County of Maui requires us to post our House Rules:
SOUND. The Courtyard is a shared space for all guests. Quiet hours anywhere on the property are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM inside or out! Please be mindful of trash or loud conversations in this area as it is for everyone’s enjoyment. This is a residential neighborhood so please respect the quiet time rules. Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries is prohibited.
PARKING. Access to the house is from Alaniu Place and parking is available for two cars. The cottage and studio guests access their parking from the driveway on Welakahao Street. Do not park on the street.
GATHERINGS. We want you to enjoy your time here and if you want to hold a large gathering for more than the registered guests at the property, Kalama Park or any of the beaches nearby can be used during park hours. No parties or group gatherings other than registered guests are allowed on the property.
EMERGENCIES. Every unit is complete with a fire extinguisher in the kitchen areas and there are smoke detectors in every sleeping room as well as hallway areas. Each bedroom has a Fire Escape Emergency Route posted. They are posted behind doors to bedrooms or highly visible in closets. In the event of a water emergency, the main water shut off for the property is located at the main house driveway along the street on the right side facing the garage. Please be sure to contact either Kristin at 879-3316 or Kym at 280-0501 in the event of any emergency.

County Kalama Park & beach at the end of the street has paved beach side jogging path starting at the public library and tennis & basketball courts, board rentals & surfing schools in Kalama Park, also outdoor roller rink, skateboard park, toddlers play area, Kihei Community Center with with Olympic-Size Pool & dive shop, all within one half mile.

We will accommodate early in or late out based on incoming/outgoing reservations. We can hold luggage and make the beach bath available for early arrivals or late departures. Cancellation Fee of 15% of total reservation amount (not including cleaning or other fees) if reservation is cancelled more the 90 days ahead of check in day. Within 90 days, no refund
50% due at time of booking, balance due 30 days prior to arrival
For bookings one year in advance, 33% at booking; 33% 6 months prior and balance 30 days prior.
