Elena and Giovanni bought this flat as their first love nest in a very quiet street, because they wanted to live in the centre of Florence near by the most important monuments in the world!
the flat is very bright, quiet and cosy.
The flat was as described and everything we wanted was included. We were really pleased with when we arrived. It was very modern, clean and well presented. Elena and Giovanni were helpful and showed us where local shops and markets were.
The location of the flat is excellent, close to Santa Croce and within walking distance of all tourist attractions including statues of David, Nepute and Uffizi Gallery.
We found a great restaurant in Santa Croce Piazza, called "S Croce" and ate there most nights in our 9 night stay. Michael our waiter was excellent, he had a great sense of humour and was very friendly.
We would definitely recommend this apartment to our friends and relatives and hopefully will ourselves visit again!
Really lovely place, much larger than the photos indicate. Could sleep 4 using the pull out sleeper in the couch, but much better for a couple, as everyone would have to walk through the bedroom to access the bathroom.
Has private deck overlooking inner courtyard, with table and chairs for two. Excellent for enjoying a warm evening.
The only drawback maybe for some people is that the are not many restaurants within two blocks. But if you can go 5-6 blocks, there are many excellent choices. We walked everywhere and had no issues.
Giovanni and Elena were very helpful, arranging a taxi for us when it was time to leave.
Leslie's review really covers everything very well.
I will start this review by saying I am in the hotel industry, employed by a well known company with very high standards. As a result I know I have higher expectations than most. That said....I would not have changed one thing about my experience with Elena, Giovanni and their lovely apartment.
The apartment: it's BIG. By both European and American city standards, it's big. The bathroom is enormous and the shower is to die for. Although there were only two of us, our friend's daughter from Rome unexpectedly stayed with us one night so the pull out was welcomed. The loft was terrific and so was the patio. The owners have stocked it with absolutely everything needed to prepare meals, which we happily did after visiting both the nearby market and Conad's. This not only saved us a great deal of money but was incredibly convenient for travel with a child (who always seems to be hungry). The washing machine and outside clothes line were awesome....and frequently used as chocolate gelato seemed to find its way onto my daughter daily. It's also SPOTLESS, and again, I'm pretty picky.
Booking, payment and their assistance upon departure could not have been easier. Their response from initial inquiry was pleasant and efficient. They were patient with me and my questions, trouble with PayPal, delayed arrival due to a missed connection and help with a taxi on day of departure. Thank you for being such gracious hosts.
The location is perfect. It was not my attention to "do" Florence but to "feel" it, so staying out of the immediate tourist mess was very welcome. everything was a comfortable 15-30 min walk. Recommended activities: Bike Tuscany (office a five minute walk on Via Ghibellina) for an amazing day in the Tuscan countryside, Viatour day trip to Siena and San Gimignano (pick up and drop off at S.M.N., mass at the Duomo (in English 5pm on Saturdays). Recommended restaurants: il Pizzaioulo, Mamma Gina (Oltrarno), trattoria Anita.
Elena and Giovanni, I wrote this in the lovely book in the flat.....this was my little girl's first trip to both Europe AND your beautiful city. Thank you for helping to make this amazing and memorable for the both of us.
Agréable, bien situé, bien décoré, bien équipé, on se sent chez soi. Ensemble parfait
Top location within walking distance to all famous attractions. Excellent cafe's and bars 5 to 10 minutes away. Guido, the owner's father who was waiting to show us the apartment was a true gentleman and made us feel at home. We had a wonderful 2 weeks in the apartment and would recommend it to anyone.
good value for money.
The location of this apartment could not have been better. It was easy walk to museums, monuments, and restaurants. It was centrally located in Florence.
Perfect way to end the day on the balcony with wine, bread, cheese, olive oil, and pesto.
Elena had the apartment ready for us. Her Father-in-Law met us at the apartment, and he showed us around, with him speaking Italian, and we were speaking English. What a neat way to start our Italian vacation!
Very clean, spacious, Just the right size for the two of us.
The bed was very comfortable.
It was easy to communicate with Elena through e-mail to make reservations.
It was neat to be in a true Italian neighborhood rather than a hotel, so we could experience true Italian living.
We used the well-stocked kitchen every morning for coffee from the espresso machine and breakfast items purchased from the Conad Supermarket, which was within walking distance just a few blocks away.
We would highly recommend this apartment for anyone planning a trip to Florence.
Thank you Elena!
