Luxury apartment, gorgeous lake views, large communal pool, short walk to beach.

This high quality, beautifully decorated duplex apartment is situated in the Lake Placid Apartments, and gives a feeling of luxury with its marble floors and staircase, and Italian style stucco walls.

On the first floor level, there is an open plan lounge and dining area, fully fitted kitchen, and a separate laundry and toilet. The living area opens out onto a large terrace which receives all day sun, and has a beautiful view of the lake and hills.

Upstairs on the second floor, there are 2 double bedrooms ( one with ensuite) and another separate full bathroom. Both bedrooms have a lovely view of the lake. The entire apartment has air conditioning.

There are gardens, and a large communal swimming pool in the complex.

A private parking place is also included.

Right behind the apartments ( 2mins walk) is the convenience of a large supermarket. The apartment is on the 4th floor, and is serviced with a lift.

The complex is mainly residential, securely fenced and well cared for.

Family fun!: The Lake Placid apartment is well situated for easy access to many different venues which provide entertainment for all the family - mums and dads included! Just 5min walk away is the hydropark, with water slides and rides for a great way to spend the day, or afternoon. Also very close, is a track for go-cart enthusiasts. For evening entertainment, the family fun pubs such as Cheers, or Woody Woodpeckers, are also only a 5 min. stroll away. There is a huge variety of restaurants - including Spanish, English, Chinese, Indian, Italian and Scandinavian cuisine, within easy walking distance (5 -10 min), so you can enjoy a wine or 3 without having to worry about driving home. The beautiful beach of Alcudia, as mentioned, is only a 10 - 15 min. easy stroll, and also includes activities such as paddle boats, banana boat rides, parachuting ( by boat), beach volleyball, windsurf -- or just simply building sandcastles! And to tour the town, a 4 wheel bicycle cart for all to enjoy!

Surrounding area: Lake Placid apartments - as in name, as in ambience. A residential apartment complex, quiet and relaxed, with a lovely lake setting. Enjoy the sun and view on the terrace, take a cooling dip in the large communal pool, relax on the lawn with a book. You will have the advantage of being close to all the tourist facilities, without having to fight for a sunbed, and meals will be at your own leisure. The Bellevue tourist complex is just a 5 minute walk away, with all its entertainment, as is the ' Golden Mile' with a big choice of shops, restaurants and bars. The main port area with the boat marina and large pedestrian area is perfect for an evening stroll, and a meal at one of the many restaurants, or tapas bar - and of course a ' vino tinto' - and watch the world go by.

There is a regular bus service which will take you to the historic old town, with its 800 year old Roman walls and stone facades. Enjoy a browse in the shops, or stop at a cafe to take in the charming atmosphere

Further afield: The same bus that takes you to the old town, also goes to the neighbouring resort towns of Port Pollensa ( a real treat) to the west, or Ca´n Picafort, to the east - with its popular beach promenade.

At the edge of the Alcudia resort is the Albufera Natural Park ( wetlands) - a must for nature lovers and birdwatchers.

There is a market day every day somewhere on the island. Alcudia is Sunday and Tuesday morning in the old town; Port Pollensa on Wednesday, Ca´n Picafort on Friday, Sunday morning in Pollensa old town, and the big, big market in Inca on Thursday morning. All can be reached by bus. Palma, the vibrant capital of the island, is not to be missed either, and there are several buses going there every day.

It is not necessary to rent a car when you are staying at this apartment, but if you do, a drive into the mountains on the west side of the island will take you into a different world - take a whole day to explore!

What can i say other than perfect.The apartment was ten minutes walk from the beach and ten minutes walk to the restaurants and bars.We had the apartmment for three weeks and it was like a home from home.The apartment has everthing you need and more.The pool was a good size and was never over crowded.If will holiday in Majorca next year we would rent the apartment again.One last thing the owner marco is very helpful.

The apartment is very well equipped, beautifully maintained, and in an excellent position, being within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and bars, and a large supermarket only 2 mins walk away (very handy for food shopping!)
As commented on, the pool is large and never over crowded - surrounded by nice lawn areas to sunbathe, or stay cool under the shade of a tree!

Lake Placid Apt

Lovely apartment. Balcony perfect for breakfast, lunch or any other other meal or for just a sit down and watch the activity on the lake. Nicely maintained and the owner was good enough to get us some basic supplies for our arrival. Couple of very minor hiccups but quickly dealt with with no inconvenience to us whatsoever. The beach is about 10 mins away at a leisurely pace and the port itself a further 20 mins. Once you know where you are there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance distance. The old town is easily reachable on foot and by taxi costs about 6€ and there is a fair sized market there on a Sunday. There are bus services but a bit of research on routes etc is needed to make it practical. In any event the buses seem to run when the driver feels like it!
The Garden Lago restaurant next door serves good food and is not expensive. The staff and the owner, Enrique, are very helpful. It also has Wi-Fi which is useful because the apartment as yet doesn't.
Both the port and the old town are well worth visiting and there is a great variety of good restaurants in both places.

Owner's Response: A big thank you to this family for the nice review! Along with other holidaymakers, they have enjoyed the facilities and great position of this lovely apartment - especially making good use of the sunny terrace for meals and views of the lake!
A blown fuse was tracked to a faulty kettle and replaced immediately.
Wireless broadband will be connected in the near future at the apartment, and will be an extra feature to be enjoyed by guests in 2013!
The public bus service is reasonably regular, but not always 100% reliable! But as this family found out, most places (beach, restaurants etc) can be reached by an easy walk, or a very reasonable taxi service for going a little further afield e.g. Alcudia old town.
A large supermarket, Eroski, is situated just behind the apartment complex - a 2 min walk - so is very handy for all food and drink shopping.

The apartment has everything that you need, it is very clean and spacious. The balcony is lovely and has great views over the pool and lake. It is in a peaceful location but only 5 mins from the bars and restaurants. The supermarket is literally 200 yards away which is convenient. The pool even in August was quiet and very clean in this residential complex. If you are looking for a self catering value for money apartment this would be hard to beat. The air conditioning is a treat especially when you see the shops hiring fans for the big hotel chains. We had one minor issue and it was sorted within minutes.

This family also considered the apartment to be great value for money - a point worth noting in these recession filled times! For those on a lower budget, this apartment is a great alternative to a villa - providing a top class accommodation and many extras such as were mentioned in this review - sunny terrace with great views, clean, quiet and spacious, handy to all amenities, large pool (never crowded - even in August!) and a welcome air conditioning when it gets too hot!

An excellent apartment

We have just got back from 10 brilliant days in this apartment. Everything was just as described in the advert and really clean and well maintained. The pool was never crowded and there was shade if you needed it. We spent most days on the beach which was excellent and would be particularly good for children. The supermarket was a few minutes walk away which was really useful. All in all I would highly recommend this apartment and for us, who had trouble with a lost suitcase, the person who met us with the keys couldn't have been more helpful.

The apartment was beautifully clean, light and spacious, with lovely views of the lake and surrounding scenery. It was exactly as described although probably looked bigger in reality. It's a 10 minute walk from the main strip of restaurants and given some have almost nightly tribute evenings, it was comparatively quiet in the evening. The pool was large and well maintained and was a fabulous additional facility on the occasions we didn't walk 15 mins to the beach. The supermarket was next door and the Hydropark 10mins away. We hired bikes and cycled to the port, about 10/15 mins away which is well worth doing. It was easy to pick up/drop off keys and the one query we had with the DVD player was resolved quickly.

Puerto Alcudia is a very popular summer holiday resort, its main attraction being the 10km long white, sandy beach, with crystal clear water and shallow shoreline, making it very safe for children. It is an ideal destination for families, with a large variety of outdoor activities available. The old town of Alcudia is 2km away- an interesting historic centre, with paved streets enclosed within 800 yr old Roman walls, which look stunning when lit up at night! Market day is held twice a week. A frequent bus service connects to neighbouring resort towns, Ca´n Picafort (8km east) and Puerto Pollensa (5km west).On the edge of Puerto Alcudia is the nature reserve, 'Albufera' - home to a variety of wild birdlife. On the peninsula dividing the bays of Alcudia and Pollensa, there are quiet coves and beaches, such as Mal Pas, SÍllot, and Alcanada, and higher up, La Victoria and Sa Talaia, offering breathtaking views over the both bays and the mountains. In general, it is a very beautiful area.

The cooking facilities are electric - vitro ceramic hob top and electric oven. There is an extractor. The kitchen is very modern and well equipped. It has a breakfast bar joining onto the dining area. The communal pool measures 19mt x 10mt and has a depth that ranges from 1.20m to 1.80m. There are no pool loungers available for around the pool, but guests are welcome to sunbathe on a towel on the lawn. Satellite tv which includes all the mainstream British channels (BBC, ITV, Ch 4, Ch5, etc)
