Single storey Gite in the village of Castagnede, comprising; Double bedroom. Lounge / diner / kitchenette with 'click-clack' sofa bed for 3rd. person. Shower room / WC. Satellite BskyB & TV France. Garden, terrace & BBQ facilities. Car parking. Open April to October. 7 Km from the Spa town of Salies-de-Bearn. Excellent area for sporting ( golf / fishing etc. ) & recreational holidays, being 3/4 hour from the Atlantic coast & Pyrenees. Mid-way between Biarritz & Pau, we have quick access from Stansted, Luton, Birmingham & Bristol airports. Castagnede has 1 of the most popular retaurants in the area offering excellent food at a competitive price.

Picturesque coastal and mountain area having numerous towns and villages with the 2 main Cities being Biarritz/Bayonne and Pau. Biarritz is an pretty Atlantic coast city, having golden sand beaches, famous for surfing. Going back to the Victorian / Edwardian era, Biarritz was the most popular French holiday resort for the British. Pau is an inland city with British connections for many centuries. From the Avenue de Pyrenees there are magnificent mountain views from numerous cafes & Restaurants. Biarritz, Pau & indeed Salies -de-Bearn all have excellent Casinos. The whole area offers first class & affordable salmon,trout & coarse fishing, with the world salmon fishing championships being held every year in Naverrenx. There are over 2,000Km of rivers in the area. Being towards the western end of the Pyrenees, there are numerous safe and enjoyable mountain walks. The famous religious town of Lourdes is easily within a days trip and is well worth a visit.
