Photos and Description of the Tywyn vacation house rental
5 bedroom Georgian seaside house in Snowdonia, mid-Wales

The Old Vicarage is a Georgian house set in extensive gardens in the middle of Aberdyfi, one of Wales most picturesque seaside villages within the Snowdonia national park. The house has spectacular views of sea and mountains and is within walking distance of safe beaches, golf course, sailing, tennis, shops and restaurants. Offering a high level of family house comfort, it sleeps up to 10 people with 5 beds, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, utility and basement games room with bar billiards. Outdoors there is a barbeque, parking for 2-3 cars. Well behaved dogs are welcome. This is a great house for a family holiday for all ages, although parents are advised to supervise toddlers in the gardens.

There is an excellent local links golf course in Aberdovey- made famous in the works of golf writer Bernard Darwin - 15 minutes on foot from the house, as well as a championship course at Harlech, one hour's drive away and smaller courses within 30-40 minutes drive. Visitor fees in Aberdovey ( proof of handicap required) are £45 for 2009.

Fishing boat trips are available from the jetty at Aberdovey. Kite surfing tuition and sailing facilities also available locally.

The Old Vicarage, Aberdovey

We rented the property for last week in August and found the property very comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped. The views from all bedrooms are stunning, and it was wonderful to watch all the nautical activities from such a vantage point.
The local beaches were fantastic for surfing, dog walking and safe swimming and the owner's tips were most helpful.
Would thoroughly recommend the property.

Golfers have a ball

I'm a keen golfer, and had a ball in Abderdyfi. The local course is only five minutes away and of excellent standard, with extremely friendly locals, and we also drove down to St. David's, a famously scenic course that is less than an hour away. Fortunately there are a lot of beaches to explore along the coast, so the girls were only too happy to wave the men on to the course.

We took the house in late October/ early November, and were lucky enough to catch some evening fireworks displays out across the bay, all without having to leave the garden. The sunsets were an experience too – the view from the house across Aberdyfi is stunning.

As for the house, the bedrooms were sizable and comfortable, and the kitchen and living room warm and homely. The owners were very easy to deal with, and very helpful when it came to any questions we had.

Go stay.
