About Elaine Murray
I used to live in this little apartment when I was a student at College of Charleston. I chose it because it was on the water, and it took me just 13 minutes to be in class.
I loved to watch the sunrise over the lighthouse from the dock. I had a beautiful vegetable garden in the summer and loved to eat figs from the trees in the yard. I also gathered lots of pecans in the fall.
Since then, things have changed. There's a new dock, an incredible screened-in porch, and the apartment has a great new look!
But what brings me back is what brought me here from the start - the living, breathing marsh and the wealth of beauty that comes with it - the pace of the tides, the watercolor sunsets, the racing fish, and dolphins at play. Endless hours of sunshine on the dock and wonderful gatherings with friends and family.
Now, I offer this space to you, to share it as I've loved it, in all its compact quirkiness and all its natural glory. Hope to see you here soon!
Why Elaine Murray chose Folly Beach
Very close to the beach but away from the crowds. Lots of activity on Folly including restaurants, surfing, shopping and music. Come home to view the stars from the dock or have cocktails on the porch. Downtown is a short drive and very accessible from our location. Marsh Place is not only the best of both worlds but a sanctuary in itself.
What makes this studio unique
Private refuge away from the bustle. Bird sanctuary. Crab, fish or sunbathe on the all new and spacious dock. Kayak from the backyard. Relax on the fabulous screened in porch.

Guestbook comments from the manager
My husband and I spent two nights at Elaine's place in April. Elaine was so nice and was accommodating to our not being sure of our arrival time. The only problem - 2 days was not enough! The apartment is cute and has everything you need. The dock and the views of wildlife and stars is fabulous! We ate at the Lost Dog in Folly Beach and the Fat Hen on John's Island, walked on the beach and enjoyed a bottle of wine on the deck that you see in the pix. All around, a wonderful time. I would love to go back and stay longer!
