Set in mature gardens, with choice of 3 pools, tennis, restaurant and bar.

Bright, sunny studio with sea views over the Mediterranean. The popular La Carihuela Park and Palace complex is set in mature gardens which boast wonderful orange trees, rose gardens and tropical plants making a perfect setting for anyone´s holiday. The famous Carihuela beach is only 50 mts away but if you don´t fancy that small stroll you can relax around one of the three pool areas and enjoy a meal or drink at the on site restaurant. They also have live entertainment during the year. La Carihuela has a vast choice of restaurants/bars open all year around. For the serious shoppers Torremolinos is 15 minutes walk or a bus ride away.

Further afield there are many activities for all the family; Tivoli, Selwo Marina, Plaza Mayor, Aqualand water park. Fairs during August and September! All these attractions, including the airport are within 15 minutes drive away!

This is a self catering apartment in a complex with a great variety of activities.

In Granada there´s skiing in winter.

Great place with a view on the sea.

We had a wonderful stay in this studio with a view on the sea. Do not be mislead by the condition of the building, it is presently under renovation. The studio has all the commodities and Karen is very helpful to give us tips on local grocery stores and restaurants. The grounds with the three pools and the grill bar on the sight is another advantage that I may recommend. Walking distance to all attractions my wife and I, both over 65, took hikes all around the area. We even took advantage of a walk to Benalmedena Peurto, using the causeway along the beach.It's a beautiful pleasure harbour which holds many cafés, restaurants and shops.

Buses to other destinations are right a the door. In Torremolinos we took three guided tours with Coastafrica tours, Granada,Seville,Cordoba. They pick us up in the morning and dropped us off in the evening in front of the building. The guide ,Andres, who spoke at least five languages, was absolutely perfect. We even rented a car just across the street from the building. Even if the studio needs a bit of a facelift , we do not hesitate in giving it a 5 star. Karen did the most to make us feel at home,greeted us on arrival and showed us the "spots" to eat and shop. She was there first thing in the morning to see us off. Owner's Response: Dear Manon and Patrick, First of all thank you for taking the timing in giving your feedback. It was great to have visitors from Canada. You travelled a long way to find La Carihuela. I am so pleased that you enjoyed it. The beauty about the studio is the situation and I think the views as well. I will take your advice about the facelift but I do hope you were comfortable. That is my main aim that the studio is not too clinical, as in chain accommodation. And contructive critisim is always welcome and I will take action. Again it was a great pleasure to meet you both and I will practise my French. Au revoir et a bientot! Karen

We have stayed in this apartment twice and are returning again in September, this says everything about Karen’s apartment and the fabulous location. Karen met us on arrival and was very nice, helpful and easy to deal with. The apartment is basic, clean and very homely. I particularly enjoyed Karen’s huge selection of books and the comfortable easy chairs to relax in … bliss! It is in an ideal location for exploring i.e. near train station and the bus to Malaga stops outside. The apartment complex has three swimming pools, tennis court and a really nice bar beside the pool. There is an abundance of flowers, trees and plenty of shaded areas to relax. The Mercadona supermarket is five minutes walk from the apartment … there is a fabulous bakery around the corner and some really nice restaurants nearby ... Can’t wait to return in September … Thanks again Karen:-)

Owner's Response: Dear Neils, Thank you for your comments which are always appreciated. You are correct on the complex having a lot of Dutch and British as it is very popular with these two nationalities and not many Danish! In July and August is when the Spanish have their holidays so this is when the balance changes. I am glad you enjoyed Taberna de Juan. Juan is quite a character and this bar is probably the most traditional tapas bar in La Carihuela. Re you comment on 2 star you are probably correct. I have tried in the description to describe it as a bright sunny apartment and the photos are exactly what there is: all the basic facilities needed in a self-catering apartment. As the studio is privately owned it is not generically furnished. I am aiming more for comfort. The kitchen, for those who have stayed before, has had all the cupboards changed as they were looking very tired and are now new and white. Re the cleaning please note that I do not advertise cleaning during the stay. I supply all linen for the duration of the stay with extra of everything including beach towels. Main reason for this I had family stay in another studio a few years back and they had cleaning included. They found it very intrusive having the cleaner knocking on the door all the time or arriving and finding them in the middle of cleaning. As the studio is a 25sqm self catering studio I leave all cleaning materials for clients and over the years this appears to have been appreciated. Of course anyone with disabilities is always helped out. Also this is reflected in my prices which I feel are very reasonable compared to other self catering studios, but of course if anyone wants extra cleaning that can always be arranged. GREAT STUDIO GREAT LOCATION :)

We have just returned from a two week holiday at Karen's Studio Apartment. We would definately recommend this apartment as it is in a great location for beach, restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets. Super view from the balcony out to the sea and also overlooking one of the pools. The complex has beautiful, well maintained gardens. La Carihuela is a lovely area of Torremolinos. This was an easy and pleasant booking transaction. Thankyou Karen and we hope to return.

Near Malaga City where you can visit the Pablo Picasso Museaum, The Bull Ring, The Alambra.

Within 15 minutes you can play golf, splash in water parks, visit Sea World, Selwo Marina, Tivoli Attraction and Fair ground, take a cable car, shop at several weekly markets or walk to Torremolinos centre which boast an array of shops. On the local beach there are banana boats, water skiing, windsurfing, paragliding, jet skis, sailing and fishing. During August and September there are the famous 'Ferias' (fairs) in Malaga and Torremolinos.

Various restaurant and bars are within walking distance. Spanish, British, Irish, Chinese, Indian, Italian are all available without taking a taxi.

The main plus about the area is that everything is close at hand and in a safe environment.

I have put wheelchair accessible. Generally the area of la Carihuela is excellent for wheelchairs. So is the complex with ramps and lifts. There is one area which is uneven and the shower room is only a small entrance. If you are interested then please let me know the size of wheelchair to check accessibility. On site there is a computer room with internet access. There is also left luggage and shower facilities for departures but if there are no arrivals guests can remain in the studio until departure. There is a tennis court on site - price 5 Euros per hour. Book via reception.
