We are an average American family who wanted to build a home for Grandmom and Poppy to come and stay comfortably. We are both Navy Veterans and have two young children. We love the mountains and playing outside. Brenda is a trained classical musician from The Peabody Institute and Tracy is a Physician Assistant.
Brenda purchased this house in 2012
We built The Glacier Guest House on our land next to our home, but far enough as to not be intrusive. It is the perfect home base near all of the amenities surrounding Glacier National Park.
The back deck of The Glacier Guest House faces into Flathead National Forest and a corridor of over 11 million acres of wild land including Glacier National Park and The Bob Marshall Wilderness Area.
Wildlife including Black Bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves, Coyotes, Elk, Moose and White Tail deer are often seen through the windows while seated in the Great Room. The photo of the Moose with the Red flame on the tree shows how close to the home they come.
In fact, We are Bear Aware here and we do provide a special bear-proof trash can to keep any enticements out of reach.
The Glacier Guest House is a quick 15 mins drive or 8.2 miles to the West Glacier Entrance to The Glacier National Park. The house is in one of the nicer quieter areas in the valley within a close proximity to the park.
Most especially the owners live 100 yards away and are eager to be sure that your stay is as comfortable as it can be.
The Glacier Guest House was the perfect place to stay when visiting nearby
Glacier Park. The cabin and surrounding forrest are beautiful. The cabin is very clean,
nicely furnished and has everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The owner was
very pleasant and helpful. We highly recommend this beautiful property.
We spent a wonderful week at The Glacier Guest House. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and was furnished with everything we needed. We loved the proximity to Glacier National Park, and enjoyed relaxing in the evenings on the peaceful back deck. It was great to have the gas grill for evenings when we were too tired to head out for dinner. We would love to return to Glacier Guest House and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Glacier National Park.
This was a family vacation and our stay at the Glacier Guest House made our trip all the more perfect. The home was immaculate and well stocked. What a beautiful location! It is located 10 minutes from Glacier National Park. We could not have asked for a more comfortable lodging. Many thanks to our hosts.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the Glacier Guest House! We went snowshoeing right out the back door and had a fire going in the fire pit almost the entire time we were there. It was very clean and well-maintained. Quiet, away from the highway and railroad noises. The owner was always available by phone and very helpful.
What a wonderful place this is! We loved this charming cottage, it was clean & we loved all the details and decorations. The owner was very friendly, & made sure we had everything needed. Felt comfortable, like we were at home! Loved the fire pit outside, and made use of the grill. Beautiful view of the forest out back. We liked that it was close to Glacier National Park as well for exploring. This place will always be special to us, as we became engaged during our stay. We can't wait to come back!! :)
What a wonderful experience we had at the Glacier Guest House. It is a great location - close to the park, but just far enough away from the major roads to enjoy absolute silence. The listing photos were perfectly accurate, but there is so much more! No detail was overlooked in the design and decor. The house had everything we needed and so much more - great deck, grill, outdoor living area, picnic basket, freezer ice packs, comfortable beds, etc. The property was immaculate. I will recommend this house to everyone coming to the area. We were sad to leave. I'm glad to have found this rental on VRBO and we look forward to returning very soon.
Huckleberry picking in August right out the back door. Glacier National Park including hiking, boat rides, wild life viewing, fishing, snow shoeing, skiing, whitewater rafting, cycling, kayaking, downhill and backcountry skiing, zip lines, mountain luging etc..
