This recently remodeled historic home built in 1907, has 2 1/2 ceramic tile baths with whirlpool tub. Central a/c and heating plus window a/c in some rooms. A gas heater is in the entertainment room.

It sleeps 11 people in 5 bedrooms, One double size bed and two queens plus 3 twin beds and a bunk bed twin. Two downstairs couches sleep two additional guests.

It is one short block to the beach and Seawall Blvd. at Murdochs Pier and then 2 blocks west on Seawall to the new Pleasure Pier. The Galvez hotel is 1 block east. Many of Galveston's most popular restaurants (Guidos, Fishtale, Salt Grass, Bernardos' at the Galvez, Spots, plus many others are within a few blocks) and the house is on the bus line.

The amenities include wireless internet and satellite TV and radio cd player, out door gas grill, game room, library, sunroom.

The home has hardwood floors throughout and ceramic tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The big front porch is great for socializing and generally has a pleasant breeze.

We thought the house was great! The location is outstanding. It's an easy walk to the Pleasure Pier and the seawall, and centrally located for access to most everything else on the island, such as the ferry, the Strand, Moody Mansion, and all the museums. We had a slight problem with the coffee pot upon arrival, but it was fixed quickly. The house seemed to be well maintained with everything being in good working order, but probably could stand a good deep cleaning. In all, we were very happy with the house, especially the location. And, for the price, you can't beat it for a large group.

Thanksgiving weekend

The house was spacious but dirty, there was a lot of dust and the bed sheets had stains on them. Maybe the cleaning people did not come before we arrived.

I was traveling and therefore unable to inspect the house before your arrival. I called the guest who left the house three days before you arrived and he reports "The house was great. Plenty of room for everyone, good location. No problems or issues at all." I am assured, by a highly qualified and trusted cleaning person , that the house was cleaned before you arrived and in excellant condition.

I am confounded by your report. I know that we had over thirty email exchanges over a difference about payment terms which we didn't resolve until two weeks before you arrived. Perhaps I developed a less amiable relationship than I normally have with my guests but I certainly owe you the courtesy of accepting your observations.

At this point I am really disappointed with your report and will investigate exactly what happened that could have produced this cleanliness problem. I assure you that the problem will be corrected for future renters and we will return to the five star reviews we have always enjoyed in the past.

Close to the beach!

The house was conveniently located, and definitely a good value. Plenty of room for 13, however it wasn't completely clean. Everything was provided though, which was nice. For the price we will definitely stay here again.

House was great. Plenty of room for everyone. House was very close to the sea wall which provided multiple restaurants and a big plus was how close to Pleasure Pier the house was.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE OWNER. HE GAVE US A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WEEKEND THAT WE COULD OF NEVER IMAGINED. BEAUTIFUL HOME, AMAZING SPACE, EASY TO CLEAN UP, PERFECT DISTANCE FROM THE HOUSE TO THE BEACH. (WORE THE BABIES OUT WITH THEIR 1 BLOCK WALK) I CANT WAIT TO RENT FROM THE OWNER AGAIN.... UNFORTUNATELY HE IS ALREADY BOOKED AND I WILL HAVE TO FIND A NEW PLACE THIS YR. SOOOOOO SAD. THANKS RUDY. U WERE AMAZING AND VERY KIND.
