ADORABLE BEACH COTTAGE, BAYVIEWS, JUST STEPS TO BEACH, DOGS OK!

Broadkill Beach Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Bungalow, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Great beach retreat with bayviews, just one house from the beach. Wonderful bayviews from large deck, great for just kicking back, savoring quiet evenings, or grilling the day's catch! Bring your dog, walk the beach anytime, even see dolphins sometimes at dawn or dusk. Large outdoor shower to rinse off after your day at the beach.

Quiet, relaxed atmosphere, similar to Outer Banks of the Carolinas. Surf fishing is also very popular on Broadkill. Primehook National Wildlife Refuge is just up the street, with great hiking and area to lauch your canoe or kayak.

The house is just one block from the Broadkill Store where you can get freshly baked donuts, coffee, ice cream, deli style sandwiches, fishing supplies and various miscellaneous items. This is also the house's beach access point.

While very peaceful, Broadkill is just 7 minutes from historic Milton, 15 minutes from quaint Lewes, and about 20 minutes from Rehoboth Beach with its boardwalk, outlet shopping and great restaurants.

Keywords: Cozy, dog friendly beach cottage with great waterviews, just one house back from beach.

About The Owner

Originally from Philadelphia, I discovered Broadkill Beach almost 20 years ago and have loved it ever since. It is incredibly peaceful and very dog friendly. My profession is real estate, and Broadkill, along with the other Delaware Bay beaches, is my specialty and passion. So should you fall in love with our quiet bayfront beach community and consider a purchase, I'd be glad to help.

The Owner purchased this bungalow in 2002

Why The Owner chose Broadkill Beach

I love the wonderful nature surrounding me here -- but not too far from great restaurants, movies, shopping, etc.

What makes this bungalow unique

Enjoy a hike through the Primehook Wildlife Refuge, birdwatching, walking the beach, looking out for dolphins. Great sunrises and sunsets. Great surf fishing. Build a bonfire on the beach and enjoy the beach at night. Public golf course just up the street.

A question from a future renter

  • 5 of 5
Hi,
We are so excited to come to Broadkill - these "unincorporated" villages along the East Coast are becoming few and far between, and that's exactly the reason we will be visiting in August. One of my biggest hopes for my kids, before they are grown, was to give them the experience of a beach bonfire - which would be the second reason we are renting this house. Is there somewhere locally we will be able to buy wood / and are there time restrictions for fires? We can't wait, and I'm sure I'll be back with a 5 star review after our trip! Thanks!!

Owner's Response: I'm sure you'll enjoy our beach community! I've never purchased wood for a bonfire -- just had some logs laying around my house and did a bit of foraging -- there are some small tree cutting services that you can call once in town - tell them you just need a few pieces for a beach bonfire. Just try to keep it's location close to the beach access at the Broadkill Store as some waterfront owners claim to own up to the high water mark of the bay. I usually dig a 1-2 foot pit, but newspaper in the bottom, followed by small twigs, then larger branches, logs, etc. Just be careful to not proceed if there are any strong winds for obvious reasons.
Hope you enjoy your stay -- please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Laurie Bronstein, Owner

Not a renter....YET but after reading this listing ... WOW

I'd love to be one of the "future" renters of this fabulous....or so it sounds....beach rental. The "owner/manager" sounds like an interesting lady and I love her reasons' for loving Broadkill Beach. NO I've never visited the beach before either but hope to soon. Everything the owner says about the beach and surrounding area is what I'm looking for. I have 3 German Shepherds' and they LOVE water....they are now my children (my own adults now). My sweet dogs go everywhere with me....housebroken and respectful of "human" things !!! I'm a strict but loving Mommy ...
I feel and hopefully will know in the future....that this cottage would be well worth any family renting....
I'd love to be one of them

Owner's Response: I am confident that my description of Broadkill Beach coincides with your needs -- it is truly a special place -- almost "out of time" -- quiet, no annoying pet time restrictions, etc. I hope you and your family can visit soon! The cottage is booked for the summer, but fall is one of my favorite times -- maybe you can visit then!
Best,

Bay is great for windsurfing, kayaking and fishing, but you need to bring your own gear. Broadkill is known for great fishing -- the cottage is also just steps to our local store, The Broadkill Store, where you can pick up a sandwich, ice cream, home made donuts, milk and newspapers. Wonderful birdwatching entering Broadkill as you drive through the Primehook National Wildlife Refuge.
