PERFECT LOCATION TO VISIT NAPA AND SONOMA!

Glen Ellen House Rental Photos and Description

Indulge in your own private villa nestled in the heart of wine country, located perfectly on a short cut between Sonoma to Napa Valley, 2 miles from the main Sonoma road of wineries, 9 miles from Sonoma Plaza. This stylish mid-century modern home was built on a spectacular 4.5-acre setting located in the hills above the Sonoma Valley and is a Licensed Vacation Rental with the County of Sonoma. Take a dip in your private idyllic pool, styled as a lake amongst the trees. Hang out in the outdoor hot tub with views of mountains and redwoods. Spend hours playing bocce on a court next to a private vineyard. Test out that new recipe you have been dying to try in your own gourmet kitchen. Dine alfresco on your private deck, then sip cocktails on outdoor seating while the sunset casts a warm hue on your amazing view of the “Valley of the Moon.” On a cold night, cozy up by the warm fireplace. Take in a movie, or relax, on the sophisticated and modern furnishings. This property is behind a private gate in a tranquil setting that cannot be seen from the road.

While you visit, see wine country and relax. This villa is well-located and is very convenient to Sonoma and Napa valleys. The house is about two miles from the Sonoma Highway (Hwy. 12), which is not only a beautiful drive, but it is also dotted with many wineries, such as, B.R. Cohn, Valley of the Moon, St. Francis, Arrowood, Imagery, Mayo, Wellington, Kunde, Kenwood, Ledson, and many others. A short drive or taxi ride down a scenic road are the restaurants and wine tasting rooms of the towns of Glen Ellen (~2 miles), Kenwood (~5 miles) or the Sonoma Square (~9 miles). Key towns in the Napa Valley are also close by. Yountville, with the French Laundry and Bouchon restaurants, is ~11 miles away; St. Helena, with its shops and restaurants is ~14 miles away; and Highway 29, the main road through the Napa Valley is ~8 miles away.

This villa has so many amenities to entertain you, it creates a great vacation. You will be tempted to return year after year.

We live in San Francisco, but fell in love with wine country. After years looking, we finally found a home on our favorite road in Sonoma, between the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. We have always been fans of Mid-Century Modern Architecture. We fell in love with this home at first sight. We hope you love our home as much as we do!

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION AND AMENITIES! This home has many spaces to lounge while you are home, and puts you in the heart of where you want to be when you are out -- in the center of the wineries. There are top rated restaurants just down the hill, and the elevation provide spectacular views.

FABULOUS WINE COUNTRY RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
This is my second visit to my own private little gem. Not only is this a five star vacation home, it is a complete vacation experience and a destination of its own! I returned in the fall to see a change of season. It was great to relax and sit under the stars in the Jacuzzi and get cozy in front of the fireplace in the cool fall evenings. During the day, it was nice to play bocce in the bocce court, and have lunch on the deck.

This 3 bedroom home offers everything you need to relax, entertain, and unwind. The house is surrounded by views and amenities. This was truly one of my most memorable vacation experiences to date!

A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN

  • 5 of 5
We decided to spend our holidays in Wine Country. Well, what a place! Windows over-looking the valley, extraordinary sunsets, Redwoods all around, a pool that looks like a mountain pond, hot tub nestled in the Redwoods. It was spectacular! There are grape vines in vineyards both front and back. A winding rock covered path on the property. Just a little piece of heaven.

We played Bocce ball on the lighted court. We hiked around the property and enjoyed wine tasting at the wineries recommended by Eric. We dined at several of the suggested restaurants, but we saved some nights to cook in the gourmet chef equipped kitchen.

We just keep thinking of the “little piece of heaven" statement above. So very, very true with this great property...if we could give it 6 stars we would.

We will be back!

ANOTHER 5 STAR REVIEW!

  • 5 of 5
The reviews don't lie...this house is a find! It was so quiet and private. The views were spectacular and loved all the different outdoor seating and dining areas. We will have to return in warmer weather as the pool was gorgeous and inviting. We will also have to return to spend time just enjoying the place. The location between Napa and Sonoma wineries provided the perfect opportunity to get three full days of wine tasting in. Eric offered us some insider tips for winery visits which were helpful. He was very accessible and responsive.

AMAZING TIME

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I stayed here with two other couples and had an amazing time. As everyone has said the views are incredible. We had a beautiful view of the sun rising over the mountains and setting in the evening. You don't realize how many stars are in the sky until you view them from the deck of the house. Eric couldn't have been easier to work with as an owner. We contacted him about his thoughts on local restaurants as well as how long it would take to get there. He was great about providing suggestions (which were very good). If you are planning on making a lot of day trips to and from the house keep in mind it is a pretty winding road to get to the house.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this property with two other couples. The views and amenities at the property are undeniable. While the drive up is a little steep, it is well worth it once you get up to the house. While staying at the property we grilled outside, played bocce, relaxed in the hot tub, and played games while listening to music. We also did limo tours in Napa Valley as well as a special dinner at French Laundry. The house is located in Glen Ellen, and the downtown area is located around 7 min from the house and is a great place to have a relaxed dinner and martini after a long day of tastings. The owners of this property are also very helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns we had pre-arrival. It is as good as it looks, so would not hesitate to book again!

This property is located in the heart of wine country. The home is well-located for a tour of two of the world's most famous wine regions - Napa Valley and Sonoma. It is situated on a scenic ridge between Napa and Sonoma, overlooking the Valley of the Moon (aka Sonoma Valley). Two miles down the road is the quaint village of Glen Ellen, and the Sonoma Highway. Glen Ellen is the site of multiple fine restaurants and a high-end gourmet grocery store. The Sonoma Highway is part of a 17-mile stretch of wineries. Just to the North of Glen Ellen is Kenwood, just five miles away from the property and home to the world class Kenwood Spa and additional restaurants. A 9-mile scenic drive south leads to the historic Sonoma Plaza with restaurants, wine tasting, supermarkets, etc. If you head down the mountain in the other direction, you will find yourself in the Napa Valley, starting at Oakville, with Rutherford, Yountville and St. Helena just a few miles beyond. San Francisco Airport is about 60 miles away. There are plenty of activities nearby. Hike the scenic Overlook Trail, horseback ride, or even rent kayaks.
