Had a lovely time, 4 days wasn’t nearly enough. Cottage was as beautiful as the views. Thank you for the warm welcome – we really don’t want to leave! Michael and Lydia, Norfolk, Sept 2009. 2)Only one thing to say. Just wonderful! Maureen and John, Norfolk, Sept 2009. 3)What a find! The cottage and location have been wonderful, all which added to us having a superb holiday. Many thanks Neil and Olivia. Mike, Pat, Carol and Angie, Aug 2009. 4)Ideal cottage for exploring Edinburgh, Borders and Northumberland. Definitely have to come back, so much more to see. Highlights have been Edinburgh (especially the ‘Dungeons’ and street entertainers, the Penguins at the Zoo and Holy Island. Great beaches for the kids – Coldingham, North Berwick and rock pooling at Cove. Thank you so much. The Godfrey family, Essex. July 2009. 5)Lovely week. Beautiful cottage. Quite the best we have ever stayed in. Well done Olivia! Bryan and Pat, Norfolk, May 2009.
How to get to Oldhamstocks Cottage ....:
Oldhamstocks is a small village in South East Scotland in a lovely country setting but at the same time actually very well connected to major rail, road and air facilities. Basically, it's very easy indeed to get here.
The A1 is only 2 miles from the cottage (for those of you that don't know, its a major road heading either south to Newcastle or north to Edinburgh and beyond).
Distances and travelling times to major towns are as follows:
Edinburgh 30 miles / 35 minutes (road) / 22 minutes (train)
Glasgow 60 miles / 90 minutes (road)
Newcastle 60 miles / 90 minutes (road)
London 300 miles / 3.5 hours (rail)
National Express Trains run from our local stations Dunbar 12 minutes drive or Berwick-Upon-Tweed 25 minutes drive.
From Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle international airports you can reach pretty much all parts of the UK, most of Europe and effectively the rest of the planet!
