About Jodi McCune

I've lived in McMinnville since 1994. The restoration completed on this home is an example of the design and remodel work that I now enjoy doing as a full-time business.

I have one son who's 12 and enjoy painting, kayaking, hiking, and watching my son's sporting events!

Jodi McCune purchased this bungalow in 2004

Why Jodi McCune chose McMinnville

I restored this 1912 house in 2004 and love each and every inch of it.

It's a pleasure to preserve it and offer it to new friends.

What makes this bungalow unique

The house is so warm and cozy! I'm sure you'll enjoy going out for food and drink, but you can have an equally enjoyable time just hanging out with a great glass of wine.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Just wanted to say thank you, we had a wonderful time in McMinnville and the house was one of the big reasons why. Really cute and convenient. We actually spent a lot of time on the front porch just enjoying the sun and taking in the neighborhood. Hope we make it back again sometime.

Cute, humble abode

  • 4 of 5

Let me start by getting the negative out of the way- I feel bad even disclosing this because we really did enjoy our stay here, but a review is supposed to be straightforward. Especially so that it can be handled better in the future: Upon arrival we started getting settled into the two rooms and almost immediately noticed a sizable, I'm just going to call it a "stain" for lack of appropriate terms, on the top of one of the bedspreads. This "stain" was pretty gross- yes it looked wiped up- but by no means was this bedspread washed after the last, rambunctious use. It made us all question how long it had been since all the blankets in the house had been washed. Ew. There were plenty of extra blankets in the closet and we just decided to not thoroughly inspect them... We just didn't want to know because or minds were already staring to wander!

Another negative (and mind you this by no means made our stay worse) was that in the welcome sheet when we got to the house it said that we'd have a bottle of wine to enjoy. No wine. :( luckily we brought refreshments of our own. Also, it said there would be coffee there and their wasn't. Again, not a huge deal because there are several cute shops within a couple blocks from the house.

On to all of the positives! This house is cute. And by cute I mean, I wish I could keep it for myself. The kitchen is nice and updated as well as the bathroom. It has a great amount of space and easily fit our group of 5 women. The beds were comfortable! Plenty of extra pillows and sheets and blankets in the closet. Our favorite thing about the house though was the convenience. It's right near so many fun shops, good restaurants, etc. only 15 mins away from about a million wineries. There are also some tasting rooms within walking distance in downtown McMinnville.

I can see our group coming back again in the future for sure! The house really did feel like a home away from home :)

Owner's Response: Glad you liked the bungalow. We have worked to make it a welcoming place to stay. I apologize that during your stay we were having a lapse in our otherwise exceptional customer service. You can be assured that the blankets and bedspreads are washed regularly and our cleaner is very conscientious. We look forward to having you return again!

Quaint, cozy and convenient

  • 4 of 5

My friend and I stayed for a lomg weekend after a business trip in Portland. Have been to the area several times and rented other VRBOs; this one was spacious for several, while convenient and comfortable enough for a couple friends hanging out.for a long wine trail weekend. While it is on a busy steet as other reviewers pointed out, the front bedroom may get more outside noise, the rraffic simmers down early enough to not be an issue. Convenient and priced well. I will be back with my boyfriend!

GREAT PLACE

  • 5 of 5

This is sooo much better than a hotel room. The home has been updated, yet has many charms of an old, restored home. The owner has done a very nice job restoring. There was a nice bottle of wine for us upon our arrival. We will be returning!

Wonderful House!

  • 4 of 5

This was a great stay in McMinnville. While it is on a busy street with some noise, it is such an easy walk to downtown. The house is perfect for 3-4 people and the hosts left us some lovely treats and wine! The check-in process is super easy and we had a great stay!

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

This was an awesome house in a great location - steps from the quaint downtown McMinville filled with tasting rooms and restaurants. The house had great features - including a nice kitchen where we made a few dinners and a very comfy bed. Our dogs were very comfortable staying here and the surrounding neighborhood made for pleasant walks. While there was some street noise, this expectation was set properly in all the information about the property and I really didn't think it was so bad. The welcome wine bottle and snacks were also a nice touch - perfect after our drive in from Portland!
