Overview

Santa Fe House Rental Photos and Description

Guest House, 1 Bedroom; 1 Bath & day bed for 3 person. All amenities!

Permit #: 15-00130503

Casita de la Paz (the Peaceful Place) is nestled among the pinon trees in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This superb location provides both the serenity of a mountain retreat AND immediate access to downtown. It is one the closest homes you can get to the Santa Fe Ski basin - a 12 mile drive up through the Santa Fe National Forest.

Casita de la Paz is a guest home in an exclusive gated community and only an approximate 5 minute drive through lovely native landscape between Casita de la Paz and downtown Santa Fe (The Plaza area).

This 850 square ft. casita is a 1 bedroom/1 bath home. The bedroom offers a King bed. The bath is slate-tiled. Large windows with views of land and sky create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living. The open, light-filled great room has a Jenn-Air style kitchen and a dining area opening to a view of sunsets through junipers. From the great room, step out back onto a private outdoor deck with table, chairs and a grill—still embraced within this natural Southwest scape.

There is an additional 5-foot-seven-inch daybed in the living area. Other amenities include high-speed wireless access, Cable TV, A/C, and a washer/dryer.

Casita de la Paz is The Gateway to the best that Santa Fe has to offer. It's close proximity to the Santa Fe National Forest trail heads, the world-famous Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa, and the Santa Fe Ski basin will appeal to nature lovers and hikers. When you stay here you can easily enjoy the pleasures of both! The casita is actually only a 15 minute walk (1 mile drive) to the trail head of the Dale Ball hiking trails. These trails provide access to the network of trails throughout the Santa Fe National Forest.

Guestbook comments from the manager

I want to spend a few of my last minutes here at the Casita thanking you for all of your help in advance of my trip and your gracious flexbility when I arrived.

The Casita has been a sanctuary -- a place of gentle lighting, fluid design, and rich art and reads within. Nooks inside and out that allowed me to wander, sit, and get lost in books or thought. A warm rock, the hammock, the reading nook, the bedroom .... lovely.

Peace and easy, endless goodness...may they always be your companions.

Santa Fe High Road

  • 5 of 5

Very nice casita, wants for little. Well furnished, good floor plan and privacy. Have stayed in several VRBO units this is in the top 5%.

The casita would benefit from a clock in the main room, over the sink or above the TV. Other comments were provided as requested at the unit.

Directions were hard to follow written in the narrative style. A bulleted format would be far easier. Once located we did not need the instructions again

We will consider returning when we next visit Santa Fe

Great visit in Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our stay in this property, and our first ever visit to Santa Fe. The 'casita' felt quite homey, private, and very well appointed. In particular, the manager went out of his way to accommodate us, including making some special trips to deliver replacement credit cards after a fraud alert on ours. We did forget to request information about the in-town parking place, and may have overlooked something in the welcome book about it, but it wasn't necessary. The neighborhood is lovely, with nice views. We would certainly return, and recommend this to friends or family. Tip: In Santa Fe, go on a walking tour your first day, not your last, as we did! We learned a lot about what to do in this wonderful small city, but were already on the eve of our departure.

Spring Break Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect fit for our family. We loved the privacy and beautiful views. Our vacation included skiing at Santa Fe and it was the perfect location close to the ski resort. Our last day we spent exploring the hiking trails right by the neighborhood and then headed into downtown Old Santa Fe. Again- a quick drive into town for anything. The house was clean, comfortable, modern! And, views were amazing driving in and out. It was such a nice place to come back to after our days out and about. We would come back again!

Everything You Need

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful casitas in a very beautiful location. The property is so private and peaceful but has easy access to both downtown Santa Fe and places north. The in-town parking spot was a terrific perk. The casita was spacious, clean and bright with every amenity one could want. I had a marveous get-away spending my time exploring, touring and visiting the terrific museums, churches, pueblos and galleries. Casita de la Paz provided a perfect place to relax in natural beauty after spending the day absorbing the amazing culture of Santa Fe.

A Nice Quiet Retreat

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I just spent a few days in beautiful Santa Fe at Casita de Paz. It’s a comfortable, modern casita just a few minutes outside downtown Santa Fe, with the added benefit of a reserved parking place in town.

Richard’s directions were very good, and parking was easy, right in front. The house offered privacy, the kitchen was beautiful, and although we didn’t use it a lot, it had what we needed. And it was very easy to open the windows and get wonderful cross ventilation throughout the casita.

Because the casita is outside of town, we could really see the stars at night, which were vivid and bright. 1000’s of them. The air was clear and crisp, and it was so quiet there.

But even though it felt remote, we could still get up in the morning and in ten minutes be in Santa Fe eating breakfast at a nice diner. It was simple to drive back and forth from town to the casita more than once in a day.

One minor drawback - the bathroom really needs some sort of sturdy shelf to put a shaving kit and a woman’s cosmetics case on for the duration. The bath was fine for two, but a shelf would have made it a lot more comfortable. We ended up keeping things piled on top of the dresser next door in the bedroom.

Very enjoyable overall, and we would recommend it to any couple or singles traveling that way.

Wonderful Santa Fe Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Casita de la Paz was perfect for the two of us - we really enjoyed being able to cook, read, and have room to relax. It was comfortable, nicely laid out and decorated, and very well stocked. We loved the peaceful location; the neighborhood was lovely and so easy to get to and from the center of town (and the in town parking space was so convenient!) It was one of our favorite vacations in large part because of the Casita. We would spend the days exploring NM - hiking in the beautiful parks, exploring the Canyon Road galleries, or enjoying the hot springs, and would come home to the Casita to make dinner, relax and reflect on our adventures. We've said (more than once!) that we wish we were still there and look forward to making that happen before too long. We will certainly share our wonderful experience and recommend Casita de la Paz with our friends that are traveling your way.

Thanks again for being so accommodating!
