Guestbook comments from the manager
The following is a review submitted to me via e-mail from my first tenants, John and Carole, from Canada. They couldn't quite figure out how to post it on this site so I cut and pasted it here. This is what they said;
My husband & I stayed at Ric's house in March. This is a very nice clean & comfortable house. Nice quiet neighborhood and close to beaches and shopping. I would highly recommend this home. Mr. Ryder is most helpful and the price was right.
Ric Ryder, Owner
I am a Broadway actor and teacher living in New York City. I also have a home in Maryland where I'm from. In addition to acting, I teach what I do in university settings and privately.
I am the 3rd generation owner of this family house- my grandparents purchased it in1969. My grandfather built the shed in the carport, converted the lanai which into a den and built some of the shelves, furniture and cabinetry in the house.
Prior to inheriting the house 3 years ago, I hadn't been to Northport in 18 years. I remember how my grandparents loved living in Northport. What a great time we had together when I visited in the 70's/80's. Today I still enjoy all the activites we shared- cooking out, going to the beach, relaxing at Warm Mineral Springs and riding my bike. I go into Sarasota to see theater when I'm there and drive to Disney for a couple of days.
Initially, I thought I would sell the house, but after the first sunset I realized why people move to Florida- it was really breathtaking. Northport has grown into a real city/town. When I went to the beach I was hooked! I'm a swimmer, and the Gulf is gentle and the sand so white. I decided I must keep this house- restore it, rent it and enjoy it myself. So, mission accomplished! It's the perfect size for one or two people and occasional guests. Oh- I love the terrazzo floors feel under my feet!
