Central London holiday apartments set in the heart of the romantic SHAD THAMES district (QUEEN ELIZABETH STREET SE1) just ONE MINUTE'S walk to The River Thames & Tower Bridge. These comfortable apartments are set over-looking Queen Elizabeth Street. They benefit from a bright aspect and large private roof terraces. The apartments provide comfort for vacation or business travellers.Very suitable for entertaining with plentiful lounge and dining seating. The kitchen is fully equipped and features a washing machine and dishwasher. High ceilings and tall windows provide a light and calming environment. The high quality sofa beds in the lounge areas are perfectly suitable for 2 adults. The lounge areas are completely separate from the bedrooms with their full king size beds. This ensures sleeping privacy if required. 8 minutes walk to Tube station.

APARTMENT 1. One bedroom apartment. This is complete with 2 king size double beds in the bedroom. 2 sofa beds in the lounge. Sleeps 5 persons maximum. 830 square feet. Great for families sharing.

We have two apartments, both within the same beautiful building on Queen Elizabeth Street.

APARTMENT 2. Two bedrooms & two bathrooms. This is complete with a king size double bed in each bedroom. One king size sofa bed in the lounge and one single guest bed. 885 square feet.

WE ARE FAMILY RUN BUSINESS.: Shad Thames is an extremely desirable area for both visitors, and those who live here. Shad Thames is truly an oasis in the heart of central London. We have two apartments all within the same building. Please email or call for availability. We can accommodate upto 12 persons.

Many holiday apartments advertise that they are situated on the South Bank, when actually they are 10-20 minutes from the river. Our apartments really do have the river and Bankside right on the doorstep.

We are a family run business. We have just two apartments, and both are within the stunning Circle Apartment building. We are not a large business with multiple apartments. Having just two units allows us to offer a very personal approach for our guests. We handle all our own bookings, and will be the single point of contact. We do not use agents.

SHOWING ITS AGE

My wife and I are in our sixties, and stayed in Apartment 1 (1 bedroom, 2 beds) for two weeks. Neil, the owner, was very courteous and responsive, and the rental rate charged was quite reasonable. The apartment, unfortunately, is showing some age. The carpet is quite worn and dingy and needs to be replaced. The walls have many holes and scuff marks, and need a paint job. The need for other minor repairs, such as caulking, hinge and screw replacement, etc., was evident in several locations. The lighting in some areas, particularly the bathroom, is dim and less than adequate. The furnishings are made up of mismatched pieces of varying quality; the fold-out beds were of the type in which everything would roll to the middle, and would be quite uncomfortable for two people. As reported by one of the other reviewers, we received no instructions about operation of the various appliances, and were not told that free WiFi was available. (We found out about the WiFi when communicating with the owner about a breakdown of the washing machine, which was attended to and repaired promptly.) In my opinion the bathtub/shower is not completely safe, in that there is no anti-slip surfacing in the bottom of a steep-sided tub, and no grip bars provided. As I said before, Neil was quite good to work with, and he has told me that a complete refurbishing of the apartment is planned for the end of this year. Until then, however, I cannot recommend the property unless budget and/or elbow room are your main considerations. It should be acknowledged that the building is nice, quiet and safe, and is in an interesting area of the city.

Owner's Response: I am obviously disappointed to read this poor review. Equally, I am also surprised that during this guest's 14 night stay, we exchanged 8 emails, 4 telephone conversations, 5 text messages, 2 voice mails, and they met with our repair man regarding a damaged washing machine door. During these exchanges, the guest made no complaints whatsoever. However, they have chosen to raise these points in a global review. I suspect the poor review is motivated by concern regarding the damage caused to the washer door. WE HAVE NOT CHARGED FOR THE DAMAGE, NOR DO WE INTEND TO CHARGE. THE WASHER DOOR WAS FORCEFULLY OPENED, AND THE HANDLE TORN OFF. WE WERE SUBJECTED TO FRANTIC DEMANDS TO REPAIR THE WASHER AND RETRIEVE THE CLOTHES INSIDE. WE REPAIRED THE MACHINE AND REPLACED THE NEW DOOR WITHIN 12 HOURS.

Apartment 1 is indeed an older apartment, but I cannot accept these criticisms are entirely genuine. Apartment 1 is comfortable and clean and maintained to a good standard. We fully accept the paintwork is due for renewal this year and these works take place in late 2014. However, the paintwork is far from desperate and is still very respectable. Just one coat of paint will be necessary to cover the luggage scuffs. I believe this description to be harsh and unfair. Our rates are extremely reasonable and reflect really good value for money. We are not offering high-end 5 star luxury with Apartment 1, instead we offer a homely, clean, safe and comfortable apartment in a very desirable area and building.

I will not comment on each criticism as I believe this reviewer has been unfair on all aspects. However, I will refer to one point: Regarding the sofa beds: Apartment one consists of two double beds in the bedroom, and two sofa beds in the lounge. The apartment sleeps a maximum of 5 persons. Therefore, we would not want or expect two persons to share one sofa bed. As this reviewer's group only consisted of a couple (2 persons) sharing, they would have no use of the sofa beds. It seems that every aspect of the apartment has fallen short of this reviewer's expectations; even those that would not have been relevant to their stay, and would have needed separate and specific inspection to comment.

We value all genuine reviews, and work hard to rectify any concerns quickly and efficiently. I will personally examine every point raised in this review.

GREAT LOCATION BUT SHORT ON SUPPLIES

We are a mature couple from Canada who stayed in Apartment 3 for 8 nights (Sept 12 to 20). The location of the apartment is great - short walk to Tower Bridge and a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants including Starbucks; easy walk to 2 Underground stations (Tower Hill and London Bridge) and the Tesco supermarket. The apartment is bright, roomy and comfortable. The concierge was very helpful. We found the supplies in the apartment lacking, for example, one toilet paper roll for 2 people for 8 days, one dish cloth, no paper towels nor tissue. Although the owner could be reached by phone, there were no instructions in the apartment for things like WIFI connection and garbage disposal/recycling. If there was a microwave oven, we couldn't locate it. We were assured early check-in would not be an issue by the owner before and after we booked (our plane arrived Gatwick at 7:30am). However, when we got to the apartment around 10:30am, the tenants before us were just leaving. Fortunately we were able to drop off our luggage and step out until the apartment could be cleaned. The bedroom could use a black-out curtain to block out the early morning sun.

1. The apartments are entirely self catering, and we provide everythind needed for a one - two night stay. It is then for the guest to provide for their own individual needs. We do offer "Hotel" style housekeeping, but this is charged in addition to our standard rate, and available to book prior or even during a stay

2. WIFI. Is and was available. I am sorry you could not locate the details.

3. The garbage/rubbish/recycling is located fewer than 5 yards from the apartment door.

4. The microwave is fitted (integral) and is directly above the oven.

5. Early check-in is only guaranteed if a guest reserves this at the time of booking. The only assurances we offer, when a guest has not reserved an early check in, is that guests can securely drop and store their luggage after 10.30am. Guests can then return at 2pm (Standard check in time).

We will ensure Wifi details, and waste disposal systems are more clearly directed.

FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY!

What a perfect place this was for us to stay!
There were four of us sharing the apartment 1 (two adults, a nearly 2 year old girl and a nearly 6 year old boy).
It was our first trip to London as a family and the children were thrilled with where we stayed. On arrival, there was the giant horse statue to look at in the middle of the road. The building is blue and circular and there's an underground garage - all things that enthralled them, right from the arrival! Parking was really easy and secure and the reception staff were all very friendly and helpful, throughout our 3 night stay.
The apartment was great. The children loved sharing the big, double room (they were particularly keen on the walk-in wardrobe). The living space was everything we needed for daytime and evening, with a lovely, big dining table and comfortable settee. We also found the sofa-bed to be nice and comfortable and easy to use! Both the bathroom and kitchen were ideal. One of the other nice features was being able to look out over the communal garden; it made the living space lovely and light (and quiet) and meant the kids had some extra space to enjoy exploring and wandering about in.
The location was spot on. A lovely quiet area to come back to of an evening, but so close to all the transport links and amazing views along the Thames. It was wonderful to walk along the road, just a short way, and find yourself turning onto Tower Bridge itself - quite a breath-taking view at night time, especially!
We found Neil, who we made all the arrangements with, to be incredibly helpful and communicative.
We've already recommended this accommodation to friends and, if we get chance to come to London again in the near future, we'll certainly be booking the same place again, if we can! So impressed from start to finish! Thank you :-D

GREAT APARTMENT IN A GREAT LOCATION!

We had a great stay at the apartment. It is in a perfect location only a few minutes walk away from the Tower Bridge. There are many restaurants and shops near the apartment. We made the Starbucks our stop each morning before walking across the tower bridge. There is a tour bus stop across the bridge near the London Tower where you can purchase tickets for the city tour. There is also a tube station there where you can take the underground as well. The entire process of renting the apartment was very easy. The owner was easily reached by email and was quick to respond to any questions we had. That was our first trip to London and it wont be our last. We are looking forward to staying there again.
