Ahwatukee!!! (Lakewood), In the bosom of South Mountain. Shielded from the City yet 15 minutes from everything. Best freeway access. Great nature reserve for hiking, biking, and more. Golf everywhere. Even 10 minutes from Casino fun.
Our house is the perfect setting for all occasions. For families it’s a great size to spread out and enjoy the space. Larger groups can flow throughout the house from the front kitchen to the back pool and patio. Everyone is involved in the gathering.
And for those that want it snug and private, our place is the most peaceful setting in Ahwatukee. It is warm and cozy…perfect for the intimate travelers.
When you first enter the house you lead into a beautiful open space with 20 foot vaulted ceilings looking straight through to the back French doors and a view of the pool.
A few steps in and you see the complete East side of the house from the breakfast nook with four tall chairs and a table (in the kitchen), to the counter/dining area seating 12 more. Then into a furniture grouping, surrounding the television and fireplace with a couch, a loveseat, and the most comfortable lounger you’ll ever settle in. The couch extends into a bed, sleeping two additional guests.
On the other side of the house are two bedrooms and a bathroom and then the Master Bedroom. The Master Bedroom is a dream of charm and elegance. You enter through double French Doors into a spacious bedroom that has another set of French Doors leading to the pool and patio. It is a sight to wake up to.
Adjoined with the Master Bedroom is the glass shower enclosure with a duel shower head, next to an oval tub big enough for two. Then into a walk in closet with all the space you need.
This Master Bedroom is very private and you can also open up the French Doors and be in the center of the party.
The pool is everything needed in a pool. No diving but just the right depth for all of the fun and games in the water.
After you’ve fully settled into the comfort of the house adjusting the fans to paradise level, you can look down the street and see our lake that you saw on your way to the house. You can stroll down the street to the lake and do all kinds of things. Non motorized and electric water craft can be taken onto the lake. Canoes, paddle boats, rafts… etc. You can go fishing and catch and release the fish and our guests do not need a license or permit. You can not go swimming in the lake so you just come back to your pool at home. Then the lake is one of the most popular attractions for joggers and walkers alike. And there are large areas of greenbelt walkways weaved throughout the waterway. Wonderful for travelers that look forward to a stroll, walk or jog round the beautiful lake setting.
When you need shopping you will find every major store and shop all over Ahwatukee. And for the best in a Mall experience you can take three minutes to get on Pecos/202 Freeway and be at the Chandler Mall in no time. Or turn North on I-10 for 15 minutes and you will be in the middle of an American world class city on the leading edge of metropolitan culture, and the intense city life experience. Endless shopping and all of the things to do are too numerous to mention. Nature, sports, casinos, fine dining, social events…Phoenix has it all.
Then back to the Ahwatukee Hamlet for Wildwood Paradise
Back at the house you’ll have a hot tub to relax in under the stars and a wood fireplace to warm the Southern nights. When it's hot out relax in the cooling private pool at the house.
Keywords: Ahwatukee!!! (Lakewood), Very Private, quiet , with a super floor plan. Opens up for large gatherings or stay secluded and quiet.
Our family has been in the Ahwatukee area since the early 80’s. We knew that as soon as the building started here that Ahwatukee would be the best spot in Phoenix. It is the best/closest neighborhood to downtown and the airport. Fifteen minutes and you are there. However, it is secluded from the city, located in the most beautiful setting in the South Mountain Foothill nature preserve. Just minutes from the hiking trail to the top of South Mountain for the most spectacular view in Phoenix. You will see Havalina, turtles, eagles, owls, and other raptors, and coyotes and bunnies galore. Not to mention the most diverse natural desert landscape with breathtaking flowers in bloom.
One of the biggest advantages to our place is that the roadways get you out and moving quickly. Three minutes to the Pecos/202 Freeway with no congestion.
We are back in freezing England now L
hank you for letting us use 3223 Wildwood. We had a wonderful vacation J
I hope we left everything as you would like it.
I suspect we will be in touch again soon…
My husband and I have rented many properties for our annual holidays in America, but this one was the best! Superbly equipped, spotlessly clean, with a very private, sheltered back yard that is positioned to offer sun (or optional shade) throughout the whole day.
Situated in a lovely quiet spot, with everything you could possibly need either locally or within half an hour's drive, with some fabulous trail walks at Pima Canyon on the southern side of South Mountain.
In fairness to our host we were told at the time of booking that the pool and hot tub were not heated.
If we had been able to use these facilities, (without heating the water was far too cold to swim in early March despite the daytime temperature being 84 degrees), this would be a 100 percent perfect holiday residence. Maybe next time?
We came to Phoenix to see my wife's sister and catch some Spring Training games. As we have two boys and a couple of friends from LA were meeting us in PHX - we needed a house with space - and feel very blessed we found Art & Kathy's spot. They were very helpful from the beginning and made the process very simple. The area is nice - quiet - and if you're the outdoors-type, which we are, it's perfect. There are stores about a mile away for stocking up the fridge - some okay restaurants around - and access to things-to-do with the highways nearby. We did have one little hiccup as the heater for the hot tub only worked for two days - it was NOT anything that the owners could have foreseen - but the property managers were very attentive and came over to fix it an hour after we called. We felt if we had any problems with anything - that the property managers would be there to help ASAP - but thankfully everything aside from that little hiccup was perfect. We very much enjoyed our stay and will look to contact Kathy/Art in the future.
The pictures of this home are great, but they don't do justice to the soaring ceilings, the beautiful state-of-the-art kitchen, the spotlessly clean home, the orange tree in the front yard, the quiet and beautiful neighborhood, and the inviting backyard pool and private lake down the street. The bougainvillea and various desert plants were in full bloom, and the common areas and yards in the neighborhoods were beautifully landscaped. The peace and quiet was without parallel of all the condo/home rentals we have experienced in the past five years. The interior zoning of the home is ideal for privacy of adults with children.
The owners were extremely accommodating to schedule issues and responded immediately to any request regarding the home (we had difficulty operating the TV.)
The property is in close proximity to the airport and is convenient to tourist attractions. We LOVED the Desert Botanical Garden. We enjoyed a day at Old Town Scottsdale and made a day trip to Sedona where the red rocks are spectacular. Don't miss the drive up South Mountain, the view of Phoenix from the top, and the great hiking trails.
This house was perfect for our vacation. The location was great for what we like to do which was HIKING at South Mountain Preserve. The neighborhood was so peaceful and quiet!! It's close to the new outlet mall that just opened (a bonus for sure). Lots of good eating nearby and close to grocery stores, etc. I'm recommending the home for families with children, but only when it warms up enough to use the pool as it is unheated like they state. The house was in immaculate condition. We were there for 3 weeks and would love to go back again (like right now as it's freezing in Minnesota!) Thanks for sharing your lovely home.
This was our second visit to this vacation home, and loved it as much as the first time we stayed!! It's always wonderful to go go to sunny Arizona (especially with such lovely accommodations). The house is elegantly decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate most meals here! Breakfast and dinners were great around the pool. Everything was very clean. The yard and pool were very relaxing under the shaded patio. The Bamboos along the South side of the pool, made for excellent shade while swimming. It was fun having family barbeques with French doors that opened up to living room and kitchen. We ate both inside and around the pool, and still felt like were all together. The landscaping was beautiful with flowers and trees giving privacy from most sides. The owner was very helpful and considerate of all our needs. They are very quick to respond to any questions. Mary was also very helpful! The location was excellent as it was convenient to Pecos Rd, I-10, grocery shops and restaurants and all kinds of shops! There were lots of walking and jogging trails along the lakes. Also close to South Mountain for hiking or bike riding.
Hopefully this home will be available next time we come.
The home's location was perfect for us. Convenient to I-10, Pecos Road, grocery stores, restaurants and all kinds of shops.Very close to South Mountain for hiking or biking. It was also nice taking a early morning stroll on the Greenbelts close to the Lake. The furnishings were elegantly updated and the house is very clean. The back pool and patio area is super inviting With lounge furniture and plenty of shade.
