Welcome to our beach home on Palm Island.
My husband and I first visited Palm Island in the Spring of 2003 and immediately fell in love with the immaculate, clean beaches on this jewel of an island. We are both from the East Coast, and had never seen such white sand. We felt comfortable and safe because there were no crowds. We figured out that the absence of a bridge seems to filter out strangers and insure privacy. The ferry ride is one of our favorite activities. We bought our home soon after our second little girl was born and we needed a 'low key', noncommercial spot to vacation. When we visit, we just don't want to leave! We live currently in Iowa and the tropical weather is a treat!!
Barb Walsh purchased this house in 2004
Palm Island is an exclusive bridgeless barrier island in Placida, Florida. It must be accessed by ferry (3 minute ride). Main attraction on the island is a resort with a restaurant and shop. It is a nature lovers dream, adjacent to Don Pedro State Park. Abundant wildlife includes: manatees, dolphins, stingrays and numerous bird varieties. An anglers' dream home! It is truly the Florida of 50 years ago, no long lines or glitzy neon signs.
