Welcome to our beach home on Palm Island.
My husband and I first visited Palm Island in the Spring of 2003 and immediately fell in love with the immaculate, clean beaches on this jewel of an island. We are both from the East Coast, and had never seen such white sand. We felt comfortable and safe because there were no crowds. We figured out that the absence of a bridge seems to filter out strangers and insure privacy. The ferry ride is one of our favorite activities. We bought our home soon after our second little girl was born and we needed a 'low key', noncommercial spot to vacation. When we visit, we just don't want to leave! We live currently in Iowa and the tropical weather is a treat!!
Barb Walsh purchased this house in 2004
Walk for hours on a white, sugar-sand beach that is relatively deserted. Read by the pool or relax in the hot tub as lizards chase each other on the pathway. Watch fish jump and roll from the quaint docks in your backyard. Find multitudes of shells, shark's teeth, and pieces of coral as you watch the dolphins roll and play in the surf. Chase your little ones on the sand as they fly a kite. Build a sand castle or rent a bicycle from the resort. Explore the neighborhood from a golf cart and enjoy the beautiful houses and properties nearby. Stroll up to "Coconuts" and enjoy huge ice-cream cones or a delicious steak dinner. Watch breath-taking sunsets and take spectacular photographs of this peaceful island. These are just a few of the activities that my family (6 members from age 7 - 74) enjoyed at our BEST EVER vacation to the Pelican Inn. It is quiet, peaceful, and private. The property has everything you need for a great get-away and more! My husband and I enjoyed the separate en-suite while my mom and 3 children stayed in the two bedroom home just steps away. Barbara made us feel very welcome from the first contact we made to her and Bob (the island manager) was prompt and efficient. We cannot wait to visit this little piece of heaven again. Thank you and God bless!
