My husband (Andy) and I (Julie) were both born and raised in Alaska. Andy, Kodiak and Julie, Juneau.
Andy is the relief Captain on a big beautiful boat called the Alaskan Leader. The Alaskan Leader works in the Bering Sea long-lining Cod.
As for me. When I'm not working on the cabin I also work on a tug boat in town called the Junior. The Junior assist with incoming/outgoing barges into the Port of Seward. The Junior is also the Pilot boat for when the Cruise Ships come in.
I also make Devils Club Salve. Used for muscle aches, arthritis, dry skin, acne and safe for pets.
We also do snow removal in the winter.
Julie purchased this cabin in 2003
As our age comes upon us fast in life we have decided we need a place to call home. One that doesn't move around.
Not being able to have children has turned us to start adopting rescue dogs. We currently have 3 beautiful girls, Lady, Rain, and River and 1 boy, Rexie that have changed our lives forever.
The benefits of this property is when we first were looking for land to build a home the land needed to have certain qualities about it. Like away from the highway because we have 4 four legged children that go out side to use the bathroom and we don't want them to worry about cars while doing their business. Also we wanted it to be at a dead end road so we knew there would be no more homes being built nearby. We bought this cabin and 5 acres near in the same area in 2003. The cabin has undergone a lot of renovations we think you will like.
We do not live on the property. There is only one cabin at this time located on 1.5 acres.
Wow!! I cannot believe this place. It's lovely. It's everything I've always wanted when I travel to amazing places like Alaska.
The owner Julie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything in order when planning our trip. She gave us some great local knowledge. With that knowledge we would of missed out on so much of the true beauty of Alaska.
I'm going to recommend this place to everyone I know.. Stay out of hotels and stay at Lost Creek Cabins AK.
We really enjoyed our experience at the Lost Creek Cabins. It was more than we expected. We were excited that everything small thing was provided - from soap in the bathroom to even QTips. The owner called while we were there to come put sand on the icy driveway - something she didn't have to do.
One of the main reasons that we chose to stay here is that they allow pets. Having a puppy and no where to leave her was going to change our plans but we are glad we didn't. We have been to Seward before so this location was great - far enough from "town" but only a 10 minute drive to everything else there was to do.
If we stay in Alaska, we will definitely be back.
We have used vacation rentals in several states over the years and this one has to rate towards the top of the list. VERY clean and well appointed. Charming, comfortable and quiet. Bedrooms and bath are all upstairs so I would not recommend for elderly or disabled. Was perfect for us -- two couples (family) who didn't mind sharing a bath. Just the right distance from downtown Seward. Close to grocery store, Exit Glacier National Park, Sea Life Center and wildlife cruises on Resurrection Bay. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. Thanks Julie for a great stay!
I was impressed with the rental's quality as it was clean and well maintained. The listing photo's were accurate as to the location and close access to Seward. The owner was helpful in responding to questions and was kind, friendly, and articulate. The whole Seward community was wonderful and we enjoyed our halibut charter out of the Fish House and Captain Larry of the Harvestor worked hard to provide us with quality size fish. There are so many positives of staying at LCCA it would be difficult to list them all. I would recommend the rental to family and friends. On a scale from 1 to 100 I would give the property a 95. The only improvement I would note is the kitchen could have more "pantry type" items i.e. sugar, flour, spices, oatmeal, hot chocolate etc.
Our annual fishing trip to Alaska...I always use VRBO when searching out a place to stay for the week, and I feel like I struck a diamond when I found this gem. Literally all the comforts of home, with a woodsy setting...and a fire pit! We sat around that a couple of nights, the peace and quiet is AMAZING. 10 minute drive to town, some things even closer. Their wifi works better than mine does at home. Why anyone would want to pay more than this to stay in a 'cubicle' (motel room) is beyond me, I can't wait to stay here again on our next trip! Thanks Julie.
My husband and I stayed for three days in this lovely home in June 2014. Julie met us and showed us around the home when we arrived which was a nice touch. You will have everything you need and more to be happy. The home is cozy and we did not want to leave. Julie has thought of everything. We really enjoyed the large mugs and the hot chocolate. She also has a lot of great towels in the bathroom and other items that are not normally provided like q-tips, cotton balls, shampoo and conditioner, and soap. The beds were comfortable. The home is also immaculately clean and my husband and I love it clean. If you want Wi-Fi, you have it and it is fast! The blackout shades worked great and allowed you to sleep when there was little darkness. Great pride of ownership is seen throughout the home. Home is in a great location close to downtown Seward. Stay at Lost Creek and you will be happy and want to come back time and time again!
