About Nick Kussy

We bought the house in April of 1990. My wife and I have enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness the Sauble River. Nothing can compare to the tranquil sound of a flowing river over the rocks and the sun reflecting off the moving water.

Nick Kussy purchased this house in 1990

Why Nick Kussy chose Baldwin

I have been enjoying the northwestern Michigan area since the early 1970's. Over the years my family ( children and grandchildren) have enjoyed the beauty and recreational fun the area has to offer.

What makes this house unique

The view of the river from the sun-room or a camp fire down by the rivers edge is difficult to beat.

Fishing get away

  • 5 of 5

Great place to stay for fishermen. There are numerous rivers within 15-20 minutes to explore not to mention the ability to walk right out the back door and catch trout in small stream environment. The owner was great and did a lot to be sure that we were comfortable in our stay. The house was very clean and everything that you would need is right there.

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

The plan to rent this home was a last minute thing because of an issue with the rental we reserved ahead of time. We were having low expectations since it was unplanned but it turned out to be otherwise. There is a world of difference from the way the house looks from outside compared to what is inside it. You can say from the way everything is arranged in the house that the owner is very planned and organized. We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful place, it is secluded enough to be away from all the urban havoc. It has decent set utensils for you to cook and a huge collection serving sets. We have setup a campfire one of the two nights and it turned out to be very good although the logs were a little moist inside hence it took a lot of pine wood to get started. All in all we just loved the place and I would surely recommend this to anyone.

What a wonderful experience

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cabin with several coworkers for a fishing trip. Our experience with Nick (The owner of the property) was nothing short of excellent. The cabin was clean, spacious, and felt like home. My coworkers and I are already planning on booking this cabin for next year because of the outstanding experience we had. I can't thank Nick enough for making a good fishing trip a great overall vacation.

Perfect Fishing Base

  • 5 of 5

It was perfect. You get the amenities of modern living in the country. We stayed there while salmon fishing and loved it. The house is central to all the best salmon, steal head and trout rivers in the area. We caught all our fish within about a 15 minute drive. If you want a great place to stay while fishing this is it. If you want a place with a great atmosphere to just relax this is it too. The owner is a class act as well. We'll be staying there next year!

A great retreat

  • 4 of 5

A wonderful retreat from the world. My wife and I really enjoyed the getaway in this well maintained property. Nick really cares about his guests and made sure we were comfortable. He even had a fire going when we arrived to make sure it was warm enough in the cottage. The hot water was a little tricky, and bottled water is a must, but don’t let this dissuade you from staying! We had a wonderful time and will probably be back.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This cottage has all the comforts of home and more. Two flat screen TV's with Dish Network. Wireless internet. Fully stocked kitchen. Very comfortable beds. More importantly, the surroundings are amazing! The trickling river out back and seeing deer up-close every day make this a tranquil nature environment. I stayed here last summer and had wonderful evening bonfires next to the river. I came back this winter for snowmobiling (trails are just down the road) and as a retreat. Amazing owners!!!
