There is a barbeque and outside table for the summer months. For the children there is a large treehouse/slide, playhouse and swings. There is also a large trampoline with safety net, suitable for adults or children. For families with small children we can provide stair gates etc - please ask.

16th to 20th March 2009

Having spent days perusing travel brochures and internet links searching for the perfect location to celebrate my 40th, my wife and I stumbled across this property and what a find !
The location is perfect for exploring the sites of Kent set back from the road and accessed by a private gated driveway within its own gardens would be a perfect and safe place for children to play (we left ours at home this time).
The views from the upper lounge/bedroom are fabulous looking out along the white cliffs towards dover and into the English channel, the old Folkestone harbour below, a great place to enjoy breakfast whatever the weather and a real treat to stay in, a bit bright first thing in the morning though the blinds could be improved.
The two other bedrooms are also exceptional and the living accomodation is excellent and would comfortably accomodate 6 adults, share the pleasure with friends and split the cost.
The log burner in the living area and the comfortable settee is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or the balcony seat to catch the afternoon sun.
Our favourite was the upper lounge just enjoying the view.
There is a restaurant within easy walking distance 5 mins away although we didnt try this one, if your up for a walk turn left out of the driveway and walk up past Martello tower no 1 (currently being renovated) take the footpath up the hill to the "Valiant Sailor Public House and restaurant", fantastic open fire and a great welcome, the food was good as was the ale and not overpriced friendly staff and landlord and a beer garden for those warmer days about a 20 min brisk walk but worth it !
Turning right from the drive walk along the beach front into the old harbour a few nice pubs and restaurants here or up into the main town centre for more choice.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for something a bit special, this is and we will be back, have to take the kids next time though.

Martello Tower, Folkestone

Review Submitted: November 20, 2009 Date of Stay: November 2009
I booked the tower as a surprise for my husband's birthday. The plan was a romantic evening for two on the first night and a fun evening with friends on the second. It was just perfect for both. The tower has a magical quality and is furnished to a high standard. You feel at home but a sense of luxury at the same time. The chocolates, flowers and wine that were waiting for us on arrival were a lovely touch and added to the sense of occasion. The upper floor lounge has breath taking views over Folkestone and the coast and also doubles as a unique bedroom. We had a fantastic time and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

My boyfriend booked Martello Tower for us as a surpise weekend for my birthday. It was absolutley stunning! As it is just so unique, from the exterior you cannot imagine what an amazing place it is inside. From the second we walked in, we felt at home and the whole weekend there was just so special.
The furnishings are so in keeping with the building and the owners really have thought of everything to ensure you have a perfect stay. We were welcomed with provisions, chocolate, champagne and the most beautiful lillies. The small touches went such a long way in making us feel thoroughily spoilt.
Walking up the winding stone steps to the top floor was an experience in itself but the view from the top was just breathtaking. On our first day the weather was terrible yet it did not matter! Lighting the fire and hearing the rain against the windows added to the experience. The sunrise and sunsets were spectacular!
I absolutley recommend this venue to anyone looking for a very special unique experience.

Unique Napoleonic Martello Tower

Worthing Worthing
Review Submitted: October 18, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed in the Tower for my husband's 40th Birthday. There were 5 of us in total.
We arrived to find the Tower in a great location, the outdoor area was very suitable for our family. One of our children said "We have got our own park".
The description was very accurate, infact the place exceeded our expectations.
The whole place was immaculate. The attention to detail was brillant.
The views from the top of the tower were incredible. The facilites were very well thought out and had all we needed.
We used the wood burner and enjoyed the whole atmosphere especially the candles.
We most certainly would recommend this amazing place. Thank you.

We stayed here for my dad’s surprise 50th birthday weekend. It was absolutely perfect. Nice and clean and extremely homely. Janine also helped us with restaurant recommendations and with birthday decorations. Very thoughtful. I cannot fault our stay at the Tower.

There is a big garden and I can imagine would be perfect for children or big kids. There is a adult trampoline. Also great for BBQ's.

Thank you for a very enjoyable weekend!
