A Real Rural Idyll

With six adults and 3 children to accomodate, La Clausade needed to be big, and I must say, the photographs do not do it justice. The house has been beautifully renovated, is tremendously spacious and has a wonderful combination of traditional and modern touches. It is in a lovely, private location which gives the feel of truly getting away from it all. The overall feel of the property is that it is a home that has been well-loved and carefully renovated to provide a stylish and unique holiday let.
All of the bedrooms were large and the bathrooms modern and hotel-like. The kitchen is fantastic, particularly the range and huge fridge-freezer. The dining areas, both inside and out are large and perfect for family feasts. Having the satellite TV is a nice bonus, when swimming in the pool becomes too much!
The outside space is a real treat. Our children loved exploring amongst the apple and pear trees, discovering the hammock, swing and of course pool along the way. Sitting outside into the late evening with the stereo playing (outside speakers!) was wonderful.
The pool is wonderful - very clean, great for diving and for teaching the kids to swim.
All in all, this was a great experience. The house fit us all easily, and could have accomodated another couple without much trouble.
The surrounding area has plenty to do, particularly following the markets which are easy to get to and good fun. Also, the owner has provided a very useful guide to both the area, with dates of what goes on where, and a thorough guide to the house itself. Auch and Tolouse are well within reach.
Also, having the housekeepers in the village is great peace of mind - not that you should need them!
I can't speak highly enough of La Clausade, and would certainly reccommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and traditional French holiday. The owner was very helpful throughout, and we are already planning to come again!
