Seclusion, Solitude, Spectacular views,
Wow, where to start? I'll start with the owners and the listing. I dialogued with Scott for months before we actually made our reservation and many times in between then and our trip. He was always quick to respond and answered all our questions. He handled the business end of things promptly and professionally. All of his information was completely accurate. The villa is exactly as advertised. In fact, its even better.
Aurelio, the house manager, was also reliable and the vehicle he rented us was perfect, not new, but reasonable and dependable. He met us at the airport, showed us the area, brought us to the house, gave us all the info we needed, and the vehicle was there waiting for us.
We were at the house for 5 nights and never saw another soul. The 2 acres are completely secluded, the pool is spectacular, and the house is large, accommodating, and comfortable. We could have stayed there night and day and been perfectly content. I'm having withdrawals even now writing about it!!
After seeing most of the other locations on the island, I'm so glad we chose to stay in a villa away from the beaches and towns. Although we didn't have the sounds and sights of the beach, the trade off in privacy was well worth it and we still had the great hilltop view of the Caribbean and El Junque. And the beaches are just minutes away.
The Vieques beaches are beautiful. We went to all of them. La Plata and Playuella were our favorites. On both beaches, we were all by ourselves. The snorkeling was great at La Plata and also at the Green Beach. On Thursday morning we stopped at the Blue Beach and again were completely alone. Same thing at Navio and Luna. They are all beautiful and tranquil, unlike any beaches in the states for sure.
Make sure you stop at the Sol Food truck for lunch. Best food on the island!!
