Keywords: Beatiful country home with wraparound porch to enjoy spectacular views of nearby mountain range. Amenities include a true chef's kitchen, updated baths, office, yoga room (can serve as bedroom), large family room and a wrap around covered deck. Large sleeping area in walkout lower level. Viking and SubZero appliances. Minutes from quiet town beach, Hotchkiss, Lakeville, Lime Rock.
My wife and i bought this house because we fell in love with the area (Sharon/Lakeville/Millerton) and loved the feel of this adirondack-style house with all the modern amenities (it was built in 1996). We spend hours on the wraparound porch just savoring the pastoral views. Our kids love the privacy but also the quick access to local beaches at Mudge Pond and Lakeville.
Garrett Thelander purchased this cabin in 2010
My wife and i chose this home as a future retirement location. We are very active outdoor types, and we fell in love with the proximity to biking, hiking, and lake activities. Also, there is an abundance of great antiquing, dining options and charming litte villages like Millerton, Salisbury and Lakeville. Lastly, winters are just as fun, as there are three ski resorts within a 30- 45 min drive (Catamount, Butternut, and Mohawk Mountains) and plenty of cross-country skiing.
Our house offers a very secluded setting with great views of the countryside, the perfect place to relax and unwind. There is a big lawn that is great for letting kids run around safely. Probably the thing most people like is the large chef's kitchen with an open layout - perfect for entertaining and cooking!
We had a large group and the home was supplied with everything we needed. There were plenty of linens and towels so we didn't have to pack our own. The kitchen was well equipped and the location was quiet and serene. We also loved the wrap around porches and the fireplace. The owner was very accommodating and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this home!
My favorite part of the cabin was by far the kitchen- beautiful Viking appliances to stay in & cook wonderful meals. My husband rented the cabin for a weekend getaway & it was exactly what we needed. Thanks for letting us stay there!
We rented for the month of September. Lovely House. Beautiful location. All that it was advertised to be and more. Fantastic kitchen. The house was clean and in great condition. 20 minutes from Wassaic Metro North Station made an easy commute from city for our guests.
I stayed in this house with 5 friends this past weekend. The house was perfect. Clean, comfortable, with a view from the porch that can't be beat. All the linens were clean and very organized. Many great local attractions. Stores and restaurants were 10-15 minutes away.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a secluded weekend away
The title says it all. We held a work-related weekend retreat at this location and couldn't be happier with every aspect. It is a beautiful, spacious, and comfortable house with just about everything you could need (believe it or not, it's actually BETTER than it looks in the pictures!) It has a top-rate kitchen that was an absolute pleasure to cook for 10 people in. The living room with fireplace and the outside porch both provide great places to relax. The bedrooms are plentiful and the large furnished basement provided a great opportunity to take a break and play some pool. We went for a great hike on the Appalachian trail just a few miles away. Garrett, the owner, was prompt, helpful, and generous with his advice. What else could you need? We definitely plan on using this location again.
Private, comfortable and spacious home in beautiful Sharon, CT. My family of four (two small children) spent a month at the house over the summer. Close to everything but also quiet and serene. Great views, very comfortably appointed (the kitchen is fantastic). Overall, definitely a Five Star experience. Perfect for families or a group of adults. All of the comforts of home in a picturesque setting.
Very near Mudge Pond, in close proximity to beautiful Lakeville, Lime Rock, Millerton, Amenia, and Hotchkiss and Salisbury Prep schools. Minutes from Mudge Pond Town Beach and Lakeville Beach. Half an hour from Catamount and Butternut ski areas. Great biking, canoing and kayaking all over.
