My wife & I met and married in Mill Valley 40 years ago. She owned the downtown flower stand for many years. There will be fresh flowers when you arrive & probably some fresh berries when we make or weekly trip to the local Farmers Market.
We know & love Marin County and want to make your stay a memory to last a lifetime
Anna or Chuck purchased this apartment in 2011
This apartment directly adjoins a wonderful hiking trail on the lower slopes of Mt. Tamalpais. Our son gives bike tours of Sausalito or San Francisco and we can arrange a mountain biking guide for you. Or you can take a walk to explore Mill Valleys world famous lanes & paths that start just outside your door or.
A 5 minute drive takes you to downtown Mill Valley, it’s about 20 minutes away from ocean beaches, Muir Woods, or San Francisco. Or take a 40 minute drive to Napa/Sonoma-- the heart of Wine Country.
Mountain solitude on a 3/4 acre lot directly adjoining a wonderful hiking/biking trail. This sunny site overlooks majestic Redwoods with soaring ravens & hawks. A place to relax or a jumping off base from which to discover the San Francisco Bay area--or both.
We stayed here for a weekend getaway and it was everything we had hoped for and more. The owners were accommodating, communicated quickly, and were all-around great hosts. The place is very high up in Mill Valley, giving you a gorgeous look through the redwoods and down. The little deck outside the bedroom is a perfect place for a relaxing morning breakfast. There is a little hiking trail directly out the backdoor which was a lot of fun. On top of that, it is a sure drive to other parts of Mt. Tam to enjoy multi-hour hikes and views of the entire Bay Area. There is obviously no shortage of great food in Mill Valley either. And we even enjoyed a nice little drive north to Sonoma for some wine tasting on one weekend day as well. Cannot think of anything we did not enjoy. Great views, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, super wifi. We'd love to come back the next chance we get!
My wife and I really enjoyed our time at this unique property. Chuck and Anna were very welcoming, and provided a beautiful place for us to relax and recharge. While Mill Valley presents some challenges as far as finding your way around and navigating the narrow winding roads up into the hills, we had a great time visiting family near by and would recommend this property to anyone with an adventurous spirit and a desire for a real getaway in quiet natural surroundings...
Up on the hillsides of desired Mill Valley sits this charming place that overlooks the treetops. The owners have spared no expense on this place and it shows, nice rooms, beautiful wood floors, high end furnishings and lots more. A super bathroom and mattress were much appreciated. The little deck off the bedroom is a perfect reading spot and put you in touch with the great outdoors. I did a lot of outdoor adventures and was able to reach the coast or one of several major parks in no time at all. Should you like to eat out Mill Valley and the surrounding locations have lots of great restaurants and wine tasting places. Nice hosts and good communication (always available through text or phone). Great value for such a nice place and location.
We had a great time staying amongst the redwood trees. The apartment is beautifully appointed, and in an idyllic stunning forest environment. Our stay was much too short and we would have liked to enjoy to stay in such a pretty spot much longer. The hosts are charming and thoughtful and accommodated our every need.
This has been the ideal lodging for me during a several months stay in Mill Valley: a 1 bedroom, beautifully appointed apartment among the redwoods of Mt. Tam. The house is directly adjacent to a nature preserve with jogging trails that I enjoyed running on several times a week. The bedroom opens up to a small terrace and hillside yard that faces Mt. Tam and the preserve and is completely private. There is a luxurious full kitchen with granite counter tops and elegant redwood cupboards, including dishwasher and large refrigerator. The living room is bi-level, with an office area on the upper level and a parlor area with quality furniture and art work on the lower. All windows open up to views of tall redwoods. The bedroom with it's large solid bed, flower print spread, and green leather grandfather chair, is completely charming in an updated Victorian style, or reminiscent of a living space one might see in Tolkien's Lothlorian elf forest. Everything has a fresh and new look and feel.
During my stay I worked remotely from home as a project management consultant and found the apartment to be not only a peaceful haven for vacationing, but also a productive office space with fast WIFI access. On top of everything, the owners couldn't be more gracious, friendly, or respectful of tenant privacy. I highly recommend this listing.
For a hiker or cyclist this is a premier location. The path from your apartment connects to Mill Valley’s world famous mountain biking/hiking trails. Walk up the street a few blocks & see the steps of the Dipsea Trail—walk down into town or hike to Stinson Beach or Mt. Tamalpais.
Take a 15 minute drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, or a 40 minute drive to Napa & Sonoma Wine Country.
