Denia::
The nearest town to Monte pego is Denia. This is a cosmopolitan town, rich in history and culture. The town's focul point is the 16th century castle which dominates the town from a height of 58m. Shopping in Denia is in the main central street, Calle Marques de Campo, which is a Parisian-style tree lined avenue and is a truly wonderful place to sit and relax and take in the beautiful scenery, sunshine and culture of this exciting town. There is a good choice of shops offering high street essentials, boutiques and gift shops. Some of the best international and regional food is served in exquisite restaurants and there are many cafe/bars within this area. The 20 km of beautiful sandy beaches stretch along this coastline and offer many water sports such as windsurfing and kite surfing. Each year the beaches are awarded the European Blue Flag for their water quality and well kept clean sandy beaches.
Leisure Activities::
Denia buzzes with night-life, where the discos, bars and restaurants have live entertainment, many of which are actually on the sea front creating charm and atmosphere. The local fiestas are not to be missed as the whole town comes alive with spectacular street parades, fireworks, live music and everybody dancing in the streets. There is the beautiful Marina where there are cafe/ bars and the most exquisite restaurants serving traditional fresh fish, together with their usual regional cuisine, and there is live music and dancing in most of these. Also you can take a ferry boat to any of the Balearic Islands from the Ferry Port. The Villa is within a 30 minute drive of Terra Mitica Theme Park and Aqualandia Water Park in Benidorm which are brilliant days out for all the family. El Verger Safari Park is within a 5 minute drive of the Villa. The terrain of the Montgo Mountain and the Jalon Valleys provide a perfect environment for mountain biking. Valencia is 1 hours drive by car.
Golfing Activities::
Within 20 minutes drive of the Villa is Oliva Nova Golf Club, an 18 hole course, par 72 and designed by Seve Ballesteros and is widely considered his best design to date. It is a links course, 6,270 meters, set beside the Mediterranean. The club has a driving range, pitch and putt and a practice putting green. The Olazabal designed La Sella Golf Course is between Denia and Javea and is 25 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. the course has 18 holes, par 72, and is 6,029 meters. This course is flat and has many trees and water obstacles but presents a very good challenge. The championship Nicklaus designed courses of Real de Faula overlooking Benidorm and the 9 hole spectacular Don Cayo course at Altea will also provided good tests for all golfers.
