The Lodge has a huge, open kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a Franklin stove surrounded by river rock, and a hand built, rustic wooden dinning table for breaking bread with family and friends. The Great Room is adorned with comfortable designer furnishings and dominated by an impressive stone hearth and fireplace.
The gathering front porch of the Lodge is well equipped with comfortable rocking chairs and an all-encompassing view of the property. On the level below the porch resides a sitting area, fire pit and stone barbecue for the preparation of a multitude of outdoor culinary delights. And on starry, starry nights, the kids will love catching fire flies in Mason jars or roasting marshmallow's and sitting around the campfire watching the flames dance in the cool, mountain breezes.
Western North Carolina is a paradise in so many ways. So much to do – so little time! Just look around and take in all the mountain wonders that abound here in the shadow of Cold Mountain and the Pisgah National Forest. This is truly God’s country in so many respects. The abundant wildlife, the rolling topography of the land, the rushing streams and rivers – all beckon those weary with the demands of city life – to sit still and take in a deep breath of clean, cool mountain air.
It is here, a midst the mountain laurel, Hemlock and Maple, here along the wooded walking trails, here at the side of a placid fishing pond or a rushing river, here under the evening stars and within the sounds of a crackling fire that you and your closest friends and family will remember, reflect and resolve that while you may travel back home, you will never truly leave this place.

My husband's family gathered at East Fork Ranch over Easter weekend to celebrate my mother-in-law's 80th birthday...and it was amazing!! We loved every minute of our stay and cannot wait to return. The home is wonderful in every way. It is spacious, comfortable, and inviting. The grounds are amazing, and we enjoyed hiking, fishing, relaxing by the fire pit, and some of the kids even enjoyed swimming in one of the ponds. The sleeping arrangements worked great for 3 couples, 8 children (teenagers and college kids) and the birthday grandmother! We loved the kitchen, large table and island/bar, but we especially loved the large family room and huge fire place. And, Neda, the caretaker, was wonderful, welcoming and helpful. This was a huge hit for all of us....and we've already highly recommended it to many of our friends!
Our group of best friends stayed at East Fork Ranch for a mini vacation before Christmas & to take our children to The Polar Express. This home is amazing! It is gorgeous and spacious! Every need was considered. The ranch was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we loved the small touches like the S'mores kits. We had a great time and are looking forward to making the trip an annual one! I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful getaway!
Our family gathered at East Fork Ranch to celebrate a belated Christmas and my parents' 50th anniversary. What a great place and great time. We had 18 family members in total. The ranch was very spacious and accommodated all of us comfortably. Everything was beautiful and upscale. The ranch was decorated for the holidays and included a live Christmas tree. All the basic needs were met (linens, towels, kitchen utensils). Endles supply of firewood. Lots to do. Skiing is about 35 minutes away. Waynesville (cute town), short 15 minute drive. Spent a day in Asheville (easy 35 minute drive). We fished on the pond outside the front door. Kids loved playing pool. The trails behind the property climb high on the mountain and offer great views. Lot's of family games around the large kitchen table S'mores and fires every night. Just a great way to hang out with family (that we rarely see). I would highly recommend this lodge.
My family of 4 adults and 3 children celebrated an early Christmas at East Fork Ranch and what a wonderful experience; never a dull moment. The Lodge was beautifully decorated for Christmas; it was everything that I imagined Christmas in the mountains would be. Our son thoroughly enjoyed fly fishing on the Pigeon River, as well as, the two trout ponds on the property. The hiking and exploring the property was a thrilled for all of us. The Property Manager was very gracious and made sure we always had plenty of firewood and kindling. We will definitely return to East Fork Ranch.
An experience, not a rental. A shared piece of land, not a property. A family, not a corporation. A memory, not a moment.
Thank you Graves family from the Menard-Loughrige clan.
We absolutely loved our recent stay at East Fork Ranch Lodge. The fire pit was perfectly placed along with gas grill and quick access to the property manager, literally onsite. We booked the home for 8 kids and 3 adults. The kids loved the bunk room, which slept all 8 kids and we left 2 of the bedrooms untouched. Everything in this home is custom with no touch missed. The décor is perfect and in tradition with the mountain theme. As advertised, there was plenty of firewood for the large outdoor fire pit. Between hiking trails, 2 ponds, and fishing in the pigeon river, there was very little reason to leave the place.. I highly recommend this home. The owners are extremely nice and easy to deal with and communicate. The property manager, who as mentioned earlier is nearby, was there when we arrived, gave us a nice tour of the home, and checked back daily bringing firewood, and even a rake so the kids could create large leaf piles. If you are looking for a home that will entertain the kids and sleep from 6 - 18, this is your place. Very rare to find a mountain gem like this.. .Book it!
Guest will also have the use of our Cold Mountain which is 200 acres and has a large Guest can enjoy fishing in a stocked trout pond or try out fly fishing in the clear 1.5 miles of the East Fork River that runs through the property.
