Beautiful home, fantastic view, great location

My husband, 2 year old, and I could not have enjoyed our vacation at this home in Qualicum Bay more. From the moment I walked in the door I relaxed right away; the view of the water, listening to the waves, and smelling the salty sea air puts one immediately in "vacation mode."
The house is exactly what the listing described and even more. It was very recently redone and is immaculately clean. A number of the features are listed in the posting but there are also dimmer lights in every room, a beautifully landscaped front yard, and an incredibly comfortable king-sized bed. I'm very picky when it comes to beds, and I slept great the whole week. It was wonderful to be able to prepare a dinner in the kitchen or BBQ, enjoy the scenery with the windows open, relax on the deck and in the hot tub, and then sleep so well.
The owners were very helpful in answering questions and were more than accommodating when it came to some issues with mail delivery. We unintentionally arrived a bit early and they graciously showed us around the home and let us in on the best spots to go for groceries and lunch.
One thing that surprised us was the beach right outside the house. My husband said it best when he said, "It's alive." Being from Oregon we have beautiful beaches, but this was really special. Our daughter was delighted every day seeing crabs, sand dollars, starfish, tiny herring, jellyfish, hermit crabs, sea otter every evening, and even bald eagles swooping down for a fish!
We could have filled more than a week visiting other spots in the area. We especially enjoyed hiking around Englishman River Falls, Cathedral Grove, Rathtrevor Beach, and Little Qualicum Falls. We missed out on Horne Lake Caves because children must be 5 years old to visit, but we hear it is a must-see. Perhaps when we return one day we can stay at this comfortable, relaxing home again and explore more of this beautiful area.
