Cosy luxury in beautiful surroundings
We truly loved our stay at Esther's Field. The house itself has such a warm feel; rich in history and character and yet with every modern comfort you would want.
Everything was clean and very well maintained - which was incredibly important to us with a 4 year old and 7 month old baby! Jules, the owner, was so helpful when we booked our stay and Nicolle, who looks after the house, visited to check we were ok and to give the children a little treat, which was incredibly kind and made us feel very welcome.
Sennen Cove itself is wonderful. We stayed in Winter, so it was very quiet. Ideal for strolls along the long stretch of golden beach. One of the best bits of walking on the beach is being able to look back and see Esther's Field nestling beautifully into the cliff above the beach and knowing that at the end of the walk we would be returning to such a wonderful house. 'The Beach' restaurant which is a short walk from the house, is perfect for a coffee, snack or larger meal. We have eaten there several times and the food is always excellent. We even saw the Lifeboat being launched on an exercise, which was a definite highlight for our 4 year old (she also loved the bunk beds in her room).
During our visit we did not stray far from the house and so fully enjoyed the log fires and the fantastic view to the beach and all the way round to Cape Cornwall. When venturing out we stayed in West Cornwall; we particularly enjoyed visiting St Ives, Porthcurno and the Cot Valley. The scenery on the road from Sennen to St Ives is rugged and beautiful, so even travelling to and fro was a great experience!
We would thoroughly recommend staying at Esther's Field. Staying there made us feel special and we were sad to leave. We hope you have as good a time as we did during your stay.
Owner's Response: I am so glad you had a great week! I think Sennen is a pretty amazing place, and Esther's Field is a wonderful house to explore it all from, so I'm delighted you agree! Lovely to have the beach to yourselves on wintry walks in the Far West.
