Set in extensive private grounds amongst olive groves, Villa Mirador is exclusively located in the foothills of the Pyrenees above the seaside resort of Roses and benefits from not being overlooked by any other property. It has been renovated throughout to a very high standard. Ideal for family Summer holidays spending time at the local beaches or getting away from it all by relaxing around the infinity pool enjoying the views of the Mediterranean, the Pyrenees and the stunning sunsets. The villa is perfectly situated for walking and bird watching holidays, located directly next to the National Park. In the Winter the villa makes a perfect destination for enjoying the beautiful surrounding countryside and the extra added beauty of the snow capped mountains (usually from November to April). There is central heating and a wood burner which gives the villa a cosy feel in the Winter and makes it an ideal Christmas destination!

Accessed by a long private driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac, Villa Mirador is uniquely secluded yet accessible being only 5 mins drive from Roses town with its long sandy beaches and numerous bars and restaurants. A choice of supermarkets also 5 mins. Nearest restaurant and (seasonal ) baker 2 mins. The adjacent countryside of the Cap de Creus National Park means you can step through the back gate and walk for miles along quiet trails with great views amongst olive groves and vineyards. A short drive takes you to the spectacular scenery to the North of the Bay of Roses with wooded cliffs and isolated coves, (where the world famous El Bulli restaurant is located),or to any part of the long stretch of sandy beach which curves around the bay from Roses to L'Escala. Historical towns and villages like Figueres and Cadaques, both linked to artist Salvador Dali, are scattered around. Also nearby are the wetlands of the Aiguamolls and the Medes Islands which can be seen from the villa.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Prices shown are for a maximum of 8 people. The villa can sleep 10 people upon negotiation and extra cost. Changeover day Saturday during peak season, negotiable other times.
    €500 booking deposit required per week booked. Final balance plus €500 euros security deposit is payable at least 8 weeks before arrival. Security deposit will be returned within 4 weeks if the property is left in an acceptable condition. €150 final cleaning charge payable with final balance.
  • Payment can be made in Sterling equivalent at exchange rate on day of booking/paying final balance.
  • Villa cleaned prior to arrival. €150 charge for final cleaning. Bed linen and towels provided. Please bring beach towels. Mid- week clean can be arranged at small extra cost.
    Pets negotiable. A small extra charge will be made for pets.

Notes: Villa Mirador is on a 2000 square metre plot with steeply terraced gardens, mainly wooded with ancient dry stone walling.The infinity pool is 10x4m with full width steps in the shallow end, surrounded by stone terraces and wood decking affording a choice of sun or shade for relaxing and eating. The property has been renovated to a very high standard. Upsatairs are 3 bedrooms, family bathroom and lounge, with balconies to South and West. On the lower level is a shower room, bed 4 with double doors onto a decked terrace next to the pool & the kitchen/diner leading directly onto the outside shaded eating area. The fully equipped kitchen has seating for 8 people There is an adventure playground in the gardens, not suitable for very young children The pool, pool area, adventure playground & gardens are not suitable for very young children. Adult supervision is advisable at all times. Although the pool & terrace are on the same level, there are a lot of steps in the rest of the garden.

Golf: The nearest course is at Perelada (18 holes, par 71, 5990m) which is 10 miles or 20 mins drive. Other major courses include: Torremirona, 20 miles or 40 mins. Playa de Pals, PGA Golf de Catalunya, Emporda, all within 1 hour approx.

Ski: Usually possible from December to March. Several resorts to choose from in Spain or France within about 2 hours drive, making it a reasonable day trip.

Getting there: Girona Airport (Ryanair) 45mins. Perpignan Airport - France (Ryanair) 1 hour. Barcelona (All major airlines) 2 hours. Villa Mirador is just 30 mins drive from the French border. Driving from Calais for example takes about 12 hours (750 miles).

Other Activities: sky diving, kite surfing, bird watching, water park, go karts, Dali museums, wine tasting

My family, 2 adults and children age 13 and 8 yrs stayed the last week in august at Villa Mirador and it is just as beautiful as you see in the pictures. The house is big and the master bedroom is just lovely with shower/toilet ensuite and a view over the mediterranean sea. The standard is very high in the house, newly renovated, and the kitchen very well equipped. Every detail about the house feels luxurious. The pool area is fantastic and the house and pool are situated totally private. I must admit we didn´t leave the house and pool very often during our stay. You can find DVDs for the children and even a little library which we enjoyed. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a relaxing and quiet yet close to town vacation
