Our large and extended family found this rental property to meet all of our expectations and needs for our visit to the area. There is easy access to the highway, and it's a direct ride to the airport as well as St Augustine and other points south if you're interested in local travel. Shopping and restaurants are conveniently located if that's important to you, but once you purchase your food there's no need to leave the property for anything if you just want to kick back and relax. The kitchen is well appointed, with ample storage and seating. There are many TVs; games; toys, chairs and towels for beach play; and comfortable lounge chairs on the back porch if you don't have the energy to walk the few steps to the beach. Lots of privacy was available with the many bedrooms, bathrooms, balconies and porches, which can make a big difference when you have a full house. The photos and descriptions were accurate, and if anything, the property was more inviting and comfortable than some of the photos which had a formal feel. We encountered a few small maintenance issues (not a surprise for a home right on the water that isn't always occupied) which in no way impacted on the quality of our visit, and the owner was very responsive. Great place for a large family, or for multiple families, and the two 2 year olds in our group had a great time. The only reason we didn't recommend for people with disabilities is that there is only one bedroom on the ground floor, but that shouldn't present a problem in most situations. If you're not sure, call the owner and chat with her and she'll do a great job answering all of your questions.

As you said, the one downfall being so close to the ocean is that the salt air is torture on a house. It's a constant battle to keep everything working great (as unfortunately this family found out with the ice maker!) I am happy to say we had a brand new one installed just this week!
I am also very glad your review mentioned wheel chair access for disabled persons. Our house has a downstair master suite with a walk-in shower and a bed facing a full wall of windows with french doors that opens up to the back porch and directly overlooks the ocean. This suite was especially designed for my own grandmother who was in a wheel chair, and because of this my parents had wheel chair ramps built for the house so that getting in and out of the house is easy for your family. We are happy to set these up prior to any rental! The kitchen, the living room, and family room/den are also on the bottom floor.
Also, through our rental, we offer temporary memberships to the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club! It provides our renters with access to the PV Inn & Club and the Lodge, including admission to the fitness center. Our house is perfectly located for this, being situated almost exactly half way between the PV Inn & Club (~0.5 mi) (directly across the street from the 3rd hole of their ocean golf course!) and the Lodge. Our family has been members for almost 80 years, and it is the perfect place for families to play by the pool, as well as has a handicap friendly adult pool to soak in as well!
