The consistent feedback we receive from our guests, is that our flat is the nicest one they have stayed at by far. They rave about the decor, the garden and the quiet bucolic location minutes from downtown Berkeley and the
This place is amazing. I plan to come here every time I am in the area. So clean, parking 10 feet from your door. So safe regardless of time of day, bed is very comfortable and everything is just so clean. The
owners are very accommodating and very nice. Approachable but never in your space. Close to Monterey Market which is like a Farmers market and a Safeway which is just a regular old food store.
Washer and Dryer were a Godsend as we stayed 10 days. Kitchen has everything including a blender and it is so clean. You even get your own patio and are very close to Tilden Park and hiking and the BART is nearby too - easy way to get to downtown San Fran without traffic. You need a car but I wanted to have a car anyway and the parking was not extra and every night regardless of time a spot was waiting for us right in front of the house. This place and these very nice people are just fantastic.
Really comfortable home. Great area. Super pleasant hosts. What's not to like? Highly recommended!
We so enjoyed our two weeks in this beautifully renovated cottage. The owners have their own home on the property but the cottage gave us complete privacy with easy parking and our own entry. The gardens were blooming and well cared for, providing a welcome escape from Vermont winter. The cottage itself is thoughtfully and tastefully furnished, completely updated without losing its historical charm. We found absolutely everything we needed along with a selection of interesting art on the walls, an array of books for reading, and a gas fireplace. Because this is not where the owners live, we had plenty of drawer and closet space in the bedroom and bathroom, as well as an ample supply of quality towels and linens. The outdoor patio completed the perfect layout for us. Most outstanding and appreciated was the fully equipped kitchen, which we used for breakfast, packing picnics, and a few dinners, finding every tool and pan a person could want. We enjoyed the Berkeley Hills location and found our way around to the many area sights, focusing on walking in the great weather and beautiful views. This was not our first trip to the Bay Area, but it was our first time in nearby Tilden Park which has great family activities as well as more challenging trails. A car is essential, but we had a great time finding out way to new destinations.
We had a wonderful stay here. It is located at the top of the Berkeley Hills and while there are no views from the cottage, you can see all of SF and the golden gate bridge by going across the street. Tilden Park is a short walk or drive with great hiking. The place is like new with many thoughtful touches and a craftsman type theme. The owner greeted us and made us feel at home. I highly recommend this cozy cottage.
An easy review to write! Our second stay here at the cottage. This year we were here for eight weeks in the autumn. We cooked more meals at home this time, explored more hilly roadways and neighborhoods in the Berkeley Hills. We entertained more visitors in the cottage for meals than during our first year. I am a watercolor painter. I will travel home this year with a good supply of paintings and drawings that I did as I looked out at Elaine's beautiful garden. My husband worked on research either on the patio table under the umbrella or in the living room, laptop comfortably positioned in lap.
Elaine and Tom responded quickly and thoughtfully to any fix-it needs or questions we had. Highly recommend this cottage to you who are traveling this way. Many thanks to Elaine and Tom.
Beautiful, perfectly maintained Berkeley Hills cottage, 5 minutes drive to shops and restaurants on Solano, very close to Tilden park, lovely, private patio with table and chairs. Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, excellent washer and dryer. We stayed about a week while I interviewed for work. We were there with our one year old. Highly recommend. Elaine and Tom are great hosts.
