Photos and Description of the Santa Barbara vacation house rental Secluded French Normandy home built by renowned 1920's architect

The five bedroom home is approx 5,500 square feet. In this lovely estate is a gourmet kitchen, formal library/dining room and formal living room. Three of the very large bedrooms have full baths ensuite and a fireplace in each bedroom. All the rooms have unobstructed views of the Pacific ocean. The one acre estate is surrounded by olive trees. A large black bottom pool is completely enclosed with an English garden fence. A short five minute drive will get you to the beach. A six minute drive will get you the quaint downtown Santa Barbara. In five minutes you will be at Coast Village Road in Montecito for fine dining and incredible shops. Fifteen minutes will get you to the SB airport and a gorgeous 30 minute drive over the mountain will get you to the wine country of the Santa Ynez Valley. Santa Barbara has over 300 sunshine days a year!

  • • Regular rates..$4500/wk minimum stay one week, $16,500/mo, yearly fee available and negotiable.

    • $2500.00 refundable security deposit.

    • $500 non-refundable cleaning fee required by tenant.

    • $3,500.00 required upon booking, balance required 60 days before rental date.

    • No refunds due to cancellation, other than the security deposit.

    • Bath towels, pool towels and bed linens are provided by owner.

    • The average monthly gas and electric are included in the lease. Any charges over the monthly average are to be paid by the tenant from the security deposit.

    • Tenant to pay all long distance phone charges.

    • Basic cable and internet is provided by the owner.

    • No smoking is allowed! Tenant will lose security deposit if smoking occurs.

    • Pool service is provided by the owner.

    • No pets allowed.

Sleeps a maximum of two. Bedroom 3 has two twin beds with designer sateen bedding. Bedroom 4 is a sitting room with a sofa that pulls out to a queen size bed. This bedroom has a large screen TV. It sleeps a maximum of two. Bedroom 5 is the only bedroom located on the main floor of the home. This bedroom has a seperate entrance onto the veranda that overlooks the ocean. Notes: This home is suitable for an elderly couple since there is a large bedroom/bathroom on the main level. There are a few steps up to the kitchen door, the main door and a few steps up to the veranda facing the ocean. The bedroom on the main level has two steps down to the bedroom. This would not be suitable for a wheelchair. There is a seperate laundry room with a washer and dryer.

Our stay here was wonderful. The house has fantastic views overlooking the ocean and the weather there is perfect - sunny with blue skies every day. There is a large patio area with an ornamental fountain and lots of space for lounging in the sun or under the ancient olive trees. The pool is in a very private area surrounded by fragrant shrubs and bushes. Everything is so stylist and elegant, I was told the owner was an artist and he and his wife have exquisite taste, yet it is such a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. I believe this house was built in the 1920s by a renowned Californian architect so it has a lot of period character. The large dining room is wood panelled and the shelves are full of fascinating books. The roomy living room has a grand piano at one end! We loved it and so did the children and we hope to be back there sometime. Thoroughly recommended.
