About Me :-): Charming Venice is not an agency... just me; a working mother who runs this small business from my home. I began 3 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child, decorating and renting out our 2 family apartments. We had so much fun that we decided to then add two more to the list. I now have two children and my husband and I are in the process of opening a boutique bed&breakfast on the grand canal. I have very high expectations of the people I work with and the homes I rent. You are more than welcome to come and visit me if we don't meet the day you arrive. I often meet guests out for a sprit... a Venetian cocktail that we drink before dinner.
Eat Like a Venetian: In each apartment you will find my very own guide for restaurants that I personally frequent throughout Venice, each divided by neighborhood. My husband and I are very passionate about food, in fact most places we travel too or have lived in the past have been guided by our palette. Unfortunately like most touristic cities it is easy to find yourself in 'tourist traps' and that is the last thing I would want to happen to you as we have so many wonderful restaurants. If you are eager to see what's on my list, don't hesitate to ask me to email it to you before your arrival.

Words have not been invented to tell you how much I enjoyed my month in Venice! Time, at this point in my life, is my most precious possession and the spending of it is really an art form! :-) The apartment was perfect..everything I could wish for..including it's owners. I enjoyed shopping by vaporetto, no cars, the neighborhoods, the off the tourist trail eateries and those perfect moments as each day woke..to the bells! Even the crowds were part of living in Venice..... This truly was a once in any lifetime's perfect vacation.
I am a lover of life and all its opportunities. I am originally from Toledo, Ohio and travelled to Venice for the first time at the age of 18 in the year 2000. I met my husband on my second day in this amazing city and knew immediately my life was going to change forever..... 'Just Stay' were his exact words. Almost 12 years later I am now a wife and mother of two amazing little Venetians. In 2007 when I was pregnant with my first child I knew I had to figure out a way to do what I love and take care of my loved ones.... and that was the beginning of CharmingVenice. My husband is a talented architect and I an interior designer. We had a blast designing our first rental apartment, which lead to the second, then the third. We love the city we live in and want everyone who comes to fall in love too...
I personally think that if one is going to spend more than just two nights in Venice then the best way to live like a Venetian is in a neighborhood. The Dorsoduro neighborhood offers so much for locals, from great grocery shopping to restaurants and caffe's. Unlike many other neighborhoods, in the Dorsoduro one really gets a sense of Venetian life.
Great Local Advice! We take pride in sharing with our guest all of our local favorites and make sure you don't miss out on what's special right around you. We provied our own Venice map created especially for our guest.
